Subscriber Contest ? (1 Viewer)

It will probably go live sometime in early- to mid- August.

It will be much the same as last year, but with a bit more roster flexibility and a few scoring system tweaks.

2. 200 non-subscribers will be drawn from our email list (on August 3rd) and allowed to participate.

Cool - a nice taste of what FBG's is about - hopefully I'm lucky.

Being a Footballguys paid subscriber is an amazing value. Among the many reasons to join include expert fantasy football content and analysis not found anywhere else, timely alerts, and of course, the fabulously awesome subscriber's contest. Why go anywhere else? The people that hang with the Footballguys know more than the pros do! If you have yet to do it, I suggest you join.

I think you would find that most of the subscriber's here are extremely satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to plug the site like this. I fully endorse it myself.

Hi David - is there any update on the draft for the top 12 finishers from last year's contest? Thanks,

John
I talked to Clayton on this today. Look for an email early this week that asks all of you when you can draft and the date will get settled based on these responses.
E-mail not received early this week. Who do I e-mail from the Footballguys staff to get info on league rules, draft info? :penalty:

So we are back to picking the roster at the beginning of the season and rolling the dice? I didn't like picking a new team every week last year....

Picking a new team every week was 2 years ago. Last year was this format, except for the new roster flexibility.

Agree with Skino 100%. The reason I "only" took out a three year Footballguys.com subscription the year they offered it was that they did not offer a five year deal.

dal-boys-pahn: I couldn't have said it better myself. Regarding the contest for 2007: it will be the $250 salary cap style with roster limits. There will be scoring changes to include PPR for TE=1.5, RB=.5, and WR=1------------Contest RulesThere will be no draft. A subscriber simply chooses a team from the pre-determined values. Roster selection can be changed until the deadline passes (1:01 AM (ET) Tuesday, September 4th) at which point it will be frozen. No roster moves are permitted once the contest starts. Each participant will be able to choose any player from the pulldown lists as long as the team is at or below the cap value of $250. Players not on the pull down lists are not available. Each team will select 22 roster spots consisting of quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers and defenses. Each team must select at least 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 PK and 1 Def.Each selection has a different cap value, but all teams must remain at or under the $250 cap. Note: Even though the software should show you if you are within the cap, it is your responsibility to ensure you have a team that is valued at $250 or less. Teams that have spent more than the $250 will be disqualified in week 1.You must fill all 22 roster spots to be a valid entry. You may not select the same player more than once. For example: Submitting a lineup with two Frank Gores will be disqualified. Each week your top QB, top 2 RBs, top 3 WRs, top TE, top flex (either RB, WR or TE), top PK and top Defense will count towards your weekly total. You do not have to select who will play. You will receive the maximum score based on your roster.Contest will be Survivor style through week 13. By survivor style, we mean that only the high scores for JUST THAT WEEK advance to the next round. Scores reset each week. From week 14 through week 16, the top 250 teams will score points each week. The winner will be the team that accumulates the most total points in these 3 weeks. All 250 teams that advance to the final will have their scores reset so only the results from weeks 14 through 16 will count. Each submision is tied in with your login so you can edit and tweak all the way until 1:01 AM ET September 4th. Your last submit will be your final roster. The weekly cutoffs are as follows:Week 1 trim to 12,000 teams (all advance if we have less entries)Week 2 trim to 10,000 teamsWeek 3 trim to 8,500 teamsWeek 4 trim to 7,250 teamsWeek 5 trim to 6,100 teamsWeek 6 trim to 5,000 teamsWeek 7 trim to 4,000 teamsWeek 8 trim to 3,100 teamsWeek 9 trim to 2,300 teamsWeek 10 trim to 1,600 teamsWeek 11 trim to 1,000 teamsWeek 12 trim to 500 teamsWeek 13 trim to 250 teamsScoring:Scoring will be calculated to two decimal places (no rounding).Player Scoring (QB, RB, WR, TE)Passing TDs = 6 pointsInterceptions Thrown = -1 pointsRushing TD = 6 pointsReceiving TD = 6 pointsPassing Yardage = .05 points per yardRushing Yardage = .10 points per yardReceiving Yardage = .10 points per yardReceptions for RB = 0.5 pointsReceptions for WR = 1.0 pointsReceptions for TE = 1.5 pointsNo points scored for 2 point conversionsKicker Scoring (PK)Field Goal Made (0-29 yards) = 3 pointsField Goal Made (30-39 yards) = 4 pointsField Goal Made (40-49 yards) = 5 pointsField Goal Made (50+ yards) = 6 pointsExtra Point Made = 1 pointDefense Scoring (Def)Sack = 1 pointInterception = 2 pointsFumble Recovery = 2 pointsSafety = 2 pointsDefensive/ST TD = 6 points (Kickoff return, punt return, blocked FG return, blocked punt return, interception return, fumble recovery return)All scoring is determined final when posted regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Still no e-mail and it's now the end of the week. Again, I ask for assistance with who is the POC for this "high stakes" league.Joe, David please get back to me or send me the entry fee. I don't have a schedule where I can react to a new league right before the season starts, nor should I be expected to.

Thanks.

I'm sorry this is a stupid question but can you pick the same players every week or once you pick them for a certain week they can not be used again?

So many different ways of approaching this thing. You know you are a little looped when you wake up thinking "I really think ***** is good value at $12."

.. and its still early August

:blackdot:

Are you kidding? I LOVE my team already. Even though I've changed it 5 times already, and will change it 20 more times before the contest goes live.
