Kittle was 4th on the team in catches last season. Aiyuk was ineffective post holdout (and now injury) and CMC has been out. Nobody thought those would happen (at least to this extent) so that's why Kittle fell. That and people were WAY too high on Kincaid and as it turns out LaPorta, though LaPorta was more excusable.

ETA: It was never because of talent, everyone knows Kittle is the best, or at worst, a top-3 TE since 2018.
