***Sunday Night Football*** - Eagles at Falcons Wk2 (1 Viewer)

Philly Inactives:

QB Vince Young

OT Winston Justice

DE Darryl Tapp

LB Akeem Jordan

SS Jaiquawn Jarrett

CB Curtis Marsh

G/C Julian Vandervelde

LT Jason Peters is active, which certainly helps the O-line.

First-round pick RG Danny Watkins will make his NFL debut after being inactive in Week 1.

Young (hamstring) was expected to give it a go tonight, but Mike Kafka will back up Michael Vick for the second straight week.

Falcons Inactives:

DT Jonathan Babineaux

CB Darrin Walls

RB Antone Smith

LB Spencer Adkins

C Todd McClure

G Mike Johnson

DE Cliff Matthews

Slot receiver Harry Douglas is active just one week after suffering a concussion.

Peria Jerry will spell Babineaux, who is expected to miss 3-to-5 weeks with a partially torn MCL.

Joe Hawley will start in McClure's place.

Simple game analysis for me:

PHI will blanket the WRs, but Gonzo and Julio Jones in the slot will do damage. Turner will also gash the Eagles for 100 or so and a score.

Vick will throw early and often - shocker. McCoy will do well and I think Brown and Dion Lewis also get some love. I think the Eagles can eek it out, but it'll be close and high scoring. Eagles 31-27.

I saw 3 awful roughing the passer calls today. One on Cam Newton, one on Rodgers, and one on Cutler. Then you see a pretty clear helmet to helmet and no call. Personally, I would rather that not be a penalty but after seeing the calls earlier today, a little consistency would be great.

If the Eagles don't jump out to huge leads, they're going to have trouble winning close games because they absolutely can not stop the run. Those LBers just plain suck. As always for Andy Reid.

The scheme isn't helping. Leaving your DEs outside of the tackles leaves six gaps for the two DTs to cover. Four gaps left for 3 LBs who are already not strong. Anyone else see an issue there? Move a DE to the C gap now and then and help for run defense.

Kick returners need to leave the ego in the locker room and just kneel down in the end zone. Too many guys are running the ball out and getting stopped at the 15 yard line.

I agree, but isn't that pretty much how the Eagles have done things for years? The DEs always seem to just pin their ears back and rush outside to the QB as fast as they can, no matter the game situation. Cullen Jenkins was really supposed to be the guy that they were hoping clogged up the middle and make plays in the running game. They need a Haloti Ngata or Kevin Williams type clogger in the worst way.

Agreed. The Bills benefited from this several times today when Oakland KRs brought it out and got stuffed between the 12 and 15 yard lines.
