**Sunday Night Football - Lions 6-3 at Eagles 7-2**(-3, 47) 8:20 (5 Viewers)

Hard to predict this one. You could list a half dozen reasons that Philly should win, and several reasons Lions should win. Eagles will have to play a better game on offense then they did last week, but we know they are capable, and had a couple decent offensive showings before their bye.
IN a confidence pool this pick would be worth no more then 3 points....but I'll say Eagles at home in a close one. Something like 28-26

The game we were all meant to have in the NFCCG last January. Been waiting a long time for this one and I haven’t felt this excited for a regular season game since the Niners game in 2023. Obviously they blew the doors off the birds that game and the eagles never recovered. Hoping for a better outcome this one.

These are the two best teams in the nfc and there is obviously a lot riding on the outcome.

Earlier this week I said that I thought we’d win a low scoring game and lose a high scoring one. I still stand by that-the birds just don’t have the firepower to go blow for blow with Detroit, but they do have the defense to slow them down and especially get to Goff up the middle. The eagles offense has been….something. I think they get sort of right Sunday and the defense continues to win them games by keeping the lions out of the end zone as much as possible-maybe forcing a couple of turnovers.

Eagles win a great game- 24-23

We're gonna beat those fake Eagles.

Watch out for Jamo.

Be very curious to see the Eagles gameplan. Lions secondary is a mess, so this should absolutely be a week for Smith and AJ to be featured ala the Vikings game. Lions play 4th most man coverage, and AJ has drastic man/zone splits. If not this week, its not gonna happen. This isn't a great matchup for Barkley, and Philly would be foolish to play conservative again this week. The Lions offense isn't the Packers offense.

Also be curious to see the Lions gameplan. Eagles are a much better run D than pass D this season, as Safety play has been awful, as has CB2. LaPorta is a huge loss, but I think Goff can pick this group apart with "just" Amon-Ra and Jamo, who have eaten against man, which the Eagles play a lot of.

Lions-27
Eagles-20

Going out on a limb here saying Vic Fangio will use his not often used 6-man front defense to do whatever it takes to stop Gibbs, which then leads to the game being lit on Jared Goff to win, which I believe will lead to a multi INT game.

Eagles win 31-20 in a weird game

Eagles dline is going to be a problem for the lions oline. And the lack of actual starters or 2nd string players in the lions secondary is going to make AJ very happy. Don’t see the lions keeping up with the number of injuries they have. Losing LaPorta is huge.

Eagles 35
Lions 24

Lions out of the dome in Prime Time
Eagles have issues but keep winning
A.J. Brown will catch a pass on the first play of the game
For 3 yards
Just a feeling...Hurts has a big game
Lions can't keep up...

Pheagles- 33

Lions- 24

The Eagles should not lose at home to a team playing without both starting corners, safety, left guard and tight end. But the Eagles will not be able to stop Jahmyr Gibbs and the Lions will grit this one out.

Lions 31, Eagles 24.

I've been looking forward to this game since the schedule came out. I think it's the game of the year. It's more important to the Lions because a loss would make it virtually impossible to get home field throughout. But if we lose, it's not the end of the world. The most important thing to me is being healthy for the playoffs. But I really want to win this game.

This right here is the key to the whole game. Whether this happens or not really will decide the game.
I think they stop him, hold him under 60 yds. Jalean Phillips and BG are both really good at setting the edge on runs, and Nakobe is an absolute beast in run D.

I worry more about Jamo burning Mukuba deep a couple times.

The D will be solid, no matter what. I think this game depends on what kind of game Nick/Patullo call. And after hearing AJ met with Lurie yesterday- I guarantee you the bland-*** run 1st, vanilla route tree Offense we’ve been seeing is replaced by a pass-friendly version.

Wind is insane up in the suburbs of Philly right now. Worse than I can recall in a long time. Not sure if it settles a little by gametime and also not sure who bad weather favors.

Yep, trees down all around my neighborhood. My wife has a flower cart set up. that got flipped over. Not great for the passing game, however, I think it’s supposed to subside by game time.

I don’t think they’ll be able to just run the air out of the ball against the Lions so there’s that.
Just out of curiosity, why do you think this? My understanding is that the secondary for the Lions is pretty beat up. Starters out, or banged up.

Are you saying this just because of the anemic passing offense the eagle displayed last week? Or something else?

I hope you are right but as you said this is about as hard of a matchup for the Lions as there will be. I don't have a score but I think it could come down to a last minute play.

So, it looks like Cam Jurgens is going to play. I was thinking to myself, when is the last time the starting offensive line all played together? It has to be back in like, week three or four. Correct?

Also, I think this is a big game for AJ Brown, between the injuries to the secondary for Detroit, the pressure on the offense to get cooking, etc. One thing that I’m concerned about, is that Jalen force feeds the ball to AJ, and AJ has a big day. Something like six receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns. What concerns me is what happens if all of that goes down, and the Eagles lose. In the city, and in the locker room, that would be basically worst case scenario.

saw the injury report....one (backup) name on it for Philly, 1/4 the team including several starters for Detroit. I was calling for a close one before, but man.....if Eagles are for real this shouldn't be too close

Eagles defense anytime TD a lock baby. Jalen Carter gonna own this game up the middle. Goff throws 2 picks, one for six.

I can't disagree with this, but if there's a team that can overcome it, it's the Lions.
gotta be honest. Neutral field and both teams healthy I think Detroit a 6 point favorite. All banged up playing in Philly, feels like the line is being generous. Vegas must be done trusting the Eagles offense too

looks like the wind is still whipping. not sure thats a good thing as Jalen has a great deep ball normally

Mike Tirico let's discuss....

-1st of all, his head looks liek a balloon coming up out of that collar, if he's a 17.5 inch neck, he'a wearing a 16 inch collar and it just looks ridiculous next to CC

-Next, he turns to Collinsworth and I've never used this to describe someone but it looks like someone cleavered him across the forehead like Scatman Corthers in the Shining

-And Finally, his ears look like they are permanently folding over like a dog

And we haven't even discussed his horrible play calling tonight
