**Sunday Night Football - Lions at Chiefs**(-1.5, 53) 8:20 (2 Viewers)

Dang. I was thinking that maybe they should run it on the 3rd and 1 with the 2 minute warning available.

Just couldn't stop the Chiefs all night. Detroit's offense had some hiccups and were too predictable once they got down 10.

We'll see who's healthier: Bucs' WR crew or Lions' CBs. The answer's probably "neither".

Chiefs might be back. If they can upgrade that running game with either Brashard Smith coming on or a trade....they'll be the co-favorites to rep the AFC in the Super Bowl.
I expect them to push for Breece Hall or maybe even a Nick Chubb.
That’s like me saying I’m debating asking out Jessica Alba or Roseanne Barr.

I’m the biggest Breece guy there is but even I’m not sure . . . well, I know he’s still a very good/excellent back, but he does every so often put you in down and distance, and I think KC really stresses success rates for Andy Reid’s playcalling. There’s a reason they’ve held on to Hunt all these years and still use him.

I actually think a lot of these guys are because it’s the only reason why they choose the backs they do.

I just saw the video of Branch slapping Schuster.

Not a good look for him at all.

Juju seemed to throw a little European soccer in there (game’s over, bro, no fifteen tacked on), but still a sketchy move by Branch.

Campbell apologized for Branch. Said that’s not what the Lions are about, and Campbell proceeded to say (I couldn’t make out which of the two of these) that either he had apologized to Reid before and was letting everybody know, or he was publicly apologizing to Reid in that moment. That’s gotta stick in Campbell’s craw a bit. He doesn’t want that. That actually (and this is not sarcasm) is something I believe in him doing and support him in.

And if he’s looking for a defensive coordinator that likes to play man and knows the Detroit system that coach is free ninety-nine at the Meadowlands and we pay shipping. FREE SHIPPING!!

Feels like that exactly what Branch is about. Every time i watch the lions he's acting like a punk

Gee what a surprise; JuJu acting like a troll.

Mistake by Branch, but Shuster is a first class d-bag from way back. I love Branch from back at Bama, dude is as tough as they come but lost his cool. If he punched anyone glad it was Shuster.

I made a small bet on Chiefs only because I think 5 of the top 6 Lions secondary players are injured. Then it looked like Joseph was hobbled all game too. Can`t play against Mahomes depleted like that.

I thought Kelce was going to have a neck injury after he landed on his head. Lot of weight crashing down.

I can't believe people thought Detroit was going to go into KC, on a National Televised game, on Prime time and destroy Patrick Mahomes.. KC is a Super Bowl team, especially if they get home field.

Nobody in Detroit thought that.

All week long Lions fans knew Mahomes would have a field day with all the Lions secondary CBs injured. Even safeties Branch and Joseph are hurt but played. DC was on the radio Friday and asked about all the injuries, he never makes excuses and said "We have to slow Mahomes down with the next man up, how? I have no idea yet"

I'm surprised Detroit was able to sack Mahomes 3 times, but like you said they had little chance to stop him with that depleted of a secondary.

I think when the NFL reviews the whole thing Branch won't be suspended. He'll get a hefty fine of course.
He’ll be suspended .. If you can’t throw punches during the game, you DEFINITELY can’t after the game.
Thinking about this again this morning, I think he might be suspended multiple games. And frankly he deserves to. Brian Branch is a great player, but we have a lot of evidence that he's a dirty player. He has 8 personal fouls in his career, for reference's sake Suh had 12.

Branch is lucky he smacked JuJu. if he'd done that to Mahomes instead, I'd think 4-6 games. With JuJu, maybe he just gets 2. But that was awful, and dirty, and makes Branch look like a baby.

The only chance the Lions had was to disrupt Mahomes with a backup protecting his blind side, but the OL held their own. I think people forget KC is missing their best weapon. Rashee Rice is a difference-maker.

If they get that running game going with Pacheco, look out (if Reid will quit being so stubborn, it would help). A decent running game to pair with Mahomes' playmaking ability would be lethal, especially with Rice. Combine that with Spags working his magic and the Chiefs have another title.

ESPN Radio this morning were saying Shuster looked like a World cup soccer player the way he flopped after getting slapped then popped right back up. Branch then threw him down like a rag doll after he came back at him. Also stated that Shuster had some low blocks on Branch late in game that fueled the fire. Yes I am a Bama fan.

Why did Shuster care that Branch did not shake Mahomes hand? Let it go, game is over. I would take a W over a handshake any day.

Sounds like that wasn't the issue. Branch was heading toward JuJu regardless. Was mad about a play where he thought JuJu kind of cheap shotted him.

The Jack Campbell sack was for 0 yards, which really should be counted as a tackle.

Yeah. Can't really understand a no loss play being a sack. Don't play IDP so not a FF thing for me.

Suspended 1 game.

Lions S Brian Branch has been suspended for one game.
It will be a one-game suspension without pay for Wilson, who can appeal the decision. NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan wrote Branch’s actions on Sunday night, “Your’e aggressive, non-football act was entirely unwarranted, posed a serious risk of injury, and clearly violated the standards of conduct and sportsmanship expected of NFL players. Your conducted reflected poorly on the NFL and has no place in our game.” It’s a pretty justified response after Branch’s actions at the end of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs resulted in an on-field brawl. Assuming he doesn’t appeal the suspension Branch will likely be out for Week 7’s game against the Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield shareholders rejoice!
:pickle:

Kudos to the Chiefs for having no penalties. That is very difficult in today's NFL.

NFL Network showed that on the Goff TD motion penalty Chris Jones was lined up in the neutral zone. Should have been offsetting and 4th and goal from the 1. They were also puzzled at why it took a minute after the play to decide to throw the flag. Make the call or no call and live with it.

Branch was pissed because JuJu blocked him in the back and knocked him to the ground and kinda did the balzac drag stepping over him late in the game (wasn't called because it was a Chief player of course). Branch felt he needed to retaliate for the dis. Branch should have been smarter, but I may have done the same thing to JuJu. I'm sure Campbell will give him an earful....or High Five him...Campbell is a little crazy himself.
