of course. And I think we will have a really good shot next year. But lets be honest, there are a ton of variables out there. Maybe Lane decides to hang it up. BG probably will. Kellen Moore possibly will be the NO Coach so we're going to have to go through another season of fresh OC. Saquon is almost certainly not going to have the record setting season he's had this year. Our schedule next year is nuts (outside of the normal NFCE runs which have gotten harder with Washington- we've got @BillS, @Packers, @KC, @Vikings, @ Chargers, Lions, Rams, Denver, TB). I can pick 6-7 losses without breaking a sweat from that list. You got me there, rock. But you are correct about it being a window. Me and most of my friends here in Philly were devastated in ‘22 because we know it’s exactly that. We had the better team (at least we thought so) in ‘22 and they missed their opportunity. You usually don’t get another bite at the apple.I mean, the only conference to rep in the NFCCG was the NFCE. Lousy conference my left nut.Wait...what? Eagles easily handled both Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Was far from an "easy schedule"Knock yourself out. The Chiefs didn’t play any starters, had nothing to play for, and made no effort to win. If you want to compare those as similar situations, have at it. WAS had 5 turnovers and still won.Against playoff teams . . .
PHI: 8-2, +7.9 point differential/gm, +27.2 yds/gm
KCC: 9-1, +5.4 point differential/gm, +0.8 yds/gm (not including Week 18 vs. DEN)
If we're excluding the DEN game from your calculations, I'd like to exclude the 2nd WAS game as well since Hurts got injured on the 11th play. So effectively, he didn't play the final 3.5 quarters.
Don't bother. They're doing this on purpose.
This is totally obnoxious, this thread. It's like every other Philadelphia thread. Man, I hope the Chiefs are up to it. So many salty ham tears around here for a team that managed to slip by with an easy schedule in a lousy conference.
The NFC East is a division, unckeyherb. And the conference as a whole was lousy besides Detroit and Philly. I still am a bit stunned Detroit went the way they did, but given there was a coaching raid immediately after, one can't be surprised.
That's why the Super Bowl windows are one year and one year only. After that, if you're doing something novel or excellent, you're getting poached or losing guys in FA. Win it when you've got the shot at it. One has to when they get the chance because they might not be going back.
It’s why this year is so special to us fans. After the late-term-abortion that was the 2023 season, to see this team reset and do what they are doing now is magical. Even to a deplorable fanbase like ours. Forgive us our obnoxious ways, for we know not what we do*.
*Actually we do, we’re just insufferable.
Eagles are set to be good next year too. Just re-sign Baun, everyone else either has a replacement on the team already or is replaceable.
I'm just saying, 2022 felt like a massive missed opportunity. We were the better team and Jalen was the better QB than Mahomes that season and that day. I think this year's Eagles team is batter than that 2022 team and I think KC's team is worse. We have to finish the job this year.
