Super Bowl XLIII Game Thread - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardina (2 Viewers)

Cards were this close to being only the second Super Bowl team to take the lead after trailing by 10 or more (1987 Redskins).
Not true. The Panthers took the lead over the Patriots in SB38 after trailing by as many as 11.
Ah, you're right. I was just looking at teams that came back to win.EDIT: 2001 Rams came back to tie after trailing by 14 and 1999 Titans came back to tie after trailing by 16 but both lost.

Ben Roethlisberger did a great job holding the Cardinals offense to only 7 points in the first half, and that 100 yard INT return he had for a TD was awesome.

Let's see if he can keep it going in the 2nd half.

Not sure what your point is, but he played a great first half. Aside from the INT, he was terrific.

So isn't a guy considered out of bounds if a guy touches him while he's out? Fitzgerald's feet were out of bounds while he was tackling Harrison.

His knee lands on Fitzgerald but his helmut lands in the endzone before the ball crosses the line. BLOWN CALL. Should be 1st and goal from the 2 inch line with 1 second left.
Helmet does not make a player down...
I find that hard to believe but if true it was a good call
Not sure I haven't found anything concrete.I've found anything that touches but feet, hand.I found knee, elbow, butt only

If I'm AZ I would consider running more empty backfield sets. It would make it tougher for Pit to blitz and keep doubling Fitz.

No. Otherwise you could just run out of bounds and touch the guy. This isn't touch football, ya know. The non-call on the block in the back is the most glaring thing about that play (aside from the run back, obviously).

Oh, it isn't touch football? D.B.

Well - I know the cards were questioned for defering to the second half, but as it turns out this mmight save the game for them

Yes it does.
Check the rulebook pal. Youre dead wrong here. Thanks for playing though.
I'm fairly certain a player is down if any part of his body other than his hands or his feet touch the ground - that would include his helmet. Could be wrong, but I don't think so. If you have a link that proves otherwise, please provide.Out of curiosity, did you check the rulebook?

playa hataso much better than Janet or Aerosmith/britney or the rest of the slop they usually have
Awful either way.
Did he just put Aerosmith in the same group as Janet and Britney! I'm about to open up a 55 gal drum of whoopass!
Don't take that the wrong way, it was about Britney not Aerosmith.

I'd have to look at it again, but his helmet hit in the endzone so a pretty good chance the ball had already broke the plane.

I'm not really arguing the play, I'm arguing the rule. As far as I'm concerned, Harrison was in before his helmet touched the ground.

This will obviously be overturned. I know it's harder to see stuff down on the field, but I'm just baffled that they could have possible ruled that a fumble in the first place. Isn't it the head refs job to JUST watch the QB?
