Super Sleepers Week 7 (1 Viewer)

Malcolm Floyd for this week only vs the Raiders secondary, with Rivers coming off a 500 yard game. Thank me later.

ETA: Keenan Allen probably not going to play from what I hear from local beats.
I totally agree. I rolled him out last week and will again Sunday. Also check out the Bloom tweet about him yesterday- "Malcolm Floyd has scored in each of his last four games against Oakland, and he had his career 8-213-1 game against them in 2010..."

Keenan Allen (questionable, hip) told reporters Friday that his hip flexor injury is no longer a concern.
Allen also promised he'll play against the Raiders after returning to Friday's practice. "I don't feel it at all," Allen insisted of the hip issue. "... I don't feel like I lost a step or anything. ... I'll be out there." Oct 23 - 2:59 PM

The Union-Tribune San Diego reports Antonio Gates has a sprained MCL and will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Raiders.
Gates is unsure of his Week 7 playing status. "It's something I'm not accustomed to dealing with," Gates said Friday, concerning the MCL sprain. "I've always heard about people with knee situations. Now, I'm dealing with one." Gates suffered a sprained left MCL late in last week's loss to Green Bay. He was unable to practice at all this week and is listed as questionable. If Gates can't play against Oakland, Ladarius Green would become a high-ceiling TE1 start.

5 years ago doesn't seem relevant to me.

Another name to watch if you are desperate is Marcel Reece with the Raiders this week against the Chargers.

Browns came to San Diego a few weeks ago and allowed Duke Johnson to run wild. I watched that game and honestly Johnson just missed taking it to the bank on a few plays.

I think Verrett will cover Cooper well, leaving just Crabtree and Murray. Game should be high scoring, lots of passing, Reece could rush 7-8 times for 35 yards and catch 5-6 passes and possible TD for 60 yards. Not too bad if you need someone.

Reed is a very popular pickup this week because of his phenomenal production weeks 1-3. Not sure about that since the Bucs have given up the fewest FF PPG to TEs this season (includes Olsen & Julius.)

Better value for TE coming off injury IMO is Eric Ebron, who was getting a ton of targets & was productive the first three weeks before getting hurt.

I have Bennett on a bye.....I have Reed and Ebron on the bench. I was leaning Reed but I think you are right about Ebron.

BTW....Someone in my league dropped Austin Seferian-Jenkins in my league. Would anyone on here drop Ebron or Reed for him....or stay put. Tough decision and tight end spot hard to fill this year.

I know but he had a great first week and is supposedly coming back soon, would you drop Ebron or Reed for him or stay put, just curious what others think. Thanks!

Question: What's the difference between a desperation play and a what-the-heck flex?
I think it depends largely on your team's record and how much of a favorite you might be in your particular matchup.5-1 or heavy favorite= "What the heck"

2-4 bye week/ injury issues ="Ahhhhh.. #!($=!! desperation time"
"Crap! All my TE are either injured or on bye week!" - desperation play

"I think player x might out score player y, but worst case it won't hurt me too much" - what the heck play

LaFell mentioned yet?

Patriots activated WR Brandon LaFell from reserve/PUP.
LaFell will return Sunday after sitting out the first six weeks. It's possible he'll be on a snap count, but LaFell's presence should limit Danny Amendola to three-wide sets. LaFell averaged seven targets per game last year and finished behind only Rob Gronkowski with seven touchdowns. With a matchup against the Jets top secondary, owners should wait a week before inserting LaFell into lineups.

Speaking of Mettenberger, he qualifies as a super sleeper. He played pretty well last year with a lot less talent around him.

Is it sad to say that Brandin Cooks has slipped to "sleeper" status?

Nothing to do with a high-scoring contest against Indy, just simple karma that many owners have probably had enough of Cooks and will be sitting him this week (me included) for other options. Rest assured he will now go off.

Some very nice calls thus far in this thread:

Woods

Washington

Craggs

Carpenter

Amendola

J. Reed

Robert Woods
I gotta tip my hat to you as well. I added Woods and Washington as desperation plays plucked off a PPR dynasty wire and that turned into 57-points! I have a very good chance of winning tonight because of it.

Thanks... I picked him up but ended up play Ebron at flex. That worked out OK though. Great call on Washington!

I just want to say thanks to the folks who mentioned starting Nate Washington in this thread. You all helped me out greatly yesterday and might have saved my fantasy football season!! Ideas like starting Washington is what makes this community great!!
