Super Sleepers Week 9 (1 Viewer)

As I pondered whether I could bench Andrew Luck vs Denver for some WW sewage, I discovered a sleeper in the making.

I give you Coby Fleener . He's already been showing signs of being the primary TE going forward (23 targets the last 3) throw in a change of OC to Chud (likes TEs), Hilton is probably out, AND Denver's pass rush forcing quick throws and you have a super sleeper in the making.

Who ya got?

Does Colston count at this point? I'm not sure he's been startable all year but the Saints look like they're ready to hit the gas and TN is prime.

I disagree with this one. Most of his damage came on one of the biggest blown coverages I've ever seen. They do have a soft schedule coming up but I just don't trust him.

Yeah I'm aware of that but he still had 9 targets, 8 atches iirc and I'd guess he'll get a shot at a red zone TD. But the Saints are a roulette wheel as always.

Justin Hardy caught his first couple balls last week. Hankerson out again. Monitor not plug n play but he intrigues me.

Harry Douglas with Kendall Wright out. Walker should hog targets, but DGB and Justin Hunter are the only other passing game weapons. Should be throwing a lot to keep up with Brees. Good shot at garbage time yardage and maybe a TD.

Super sleeper!

I thought strongly about this one is as well. He's just done nothing this year with opportunities. I'd sweat that one out.

Dont watch a whole lot of Titans football, but is it possible he was miscast as an outside WR, but unable to displace Wright in the slot? he is a little guy...maybe the slot will be more natural for him. I dont know...talking myself into him with an abundance of bye weeks and injuries making it likely that I will need to start him this week.

I like Chris Thompson and McCluster as RBs with pretty safe floors in PPR. WAS travels to NE as 14 points dogs and Thompson has averaged 4th most targets amongst RBs (5.5) this year. TEN travels to NO as 8 point dogs and is allowing a little over 6 receptions to opposing RBs per game.

i wish Thompson was available. I love his chances this week. Do you like Mccluster better than Spiller this week?

Robert Woods may be a big part of the offense with Harvin done and Watkins ailing.
Right now is your last chance to grab him too. I think he'll be a fine WR3/4 down the stretch.
Agree.

I outbid five other guys on his bye week to get him.

And I'm going to start him this week if Watkins is out, which I believe he will be. I'm not buying the GTD garbage.

McCluster has been averaging 50% of the snaps where as Spiller has been closer to 20% but they're being utilized just about the same, ~10 times a game. I think it's fair to assume Spiller sees a non-zero bump in usage with Robinson out but match-up/gameflow really aren't in his favor. TEN has allowed the least receptions (22) to RBs this year. This seems to have more to do with them sucking then anything else. So yeah, due to match-up/gameflow I'd have to say I like McCluster more so this week. I don't expect him to blow-up (his ceiling likely isn't as high as Spiller's) but I'm expecting 6-8 targets in the passing game.

For those in return leagues, McCluster is handling kickoffs. That's another few points per game.

I'm inclined to think McCluster is the bigger beneficiary of Wright being out than Harry.

Rather him over the upside of agholor?
I have the same question. They are saying Agholor is coming back as the Philly #2 WR. Who shoul;d be better ROS?
If Philly gets their #### together, Agholar could have huge value. Big if though.

I would. There's no mystery with Woods. He's pretty underrated and fits the #2 WR role perfectly in this offense IMO. I trust Taylor a lot more than Bradford too.

I like Marquess Wilson and Dontrelle Inman too. Both have the potential for solid games in what could be a high scoring game with two subpar defenses.

Marquees Wilson seems too obvious. So does Doug Inman
Got Wilson for free while Inman was a waiver claim. I'm starting Wilson this week with Forte and Royal out. I'm pretty desperate though.
Im trying to determine if Adams will be seeing lots of Norman this week. If it looks like he will, I might grab Wilson and put him in over adams in the flex.
Charles Tillman is on the other side and is no slouch either. That's why I'm benching James Jones. Both CBs are playing at a level that makes the outside WRs poor plays IMO.

Wilson has better stats in one game than Adams does all year. No brainer

Interesting. Why are you so inclined?

Heath Miller vs the team that even gave up TD to a NYJ TE last week
Yeah, I like this call. Picked him up the other day to cover Gates' bye next week but I think I may put him in at Flex over Ivory in a PPR.
I'm with you two. Miller's numbers have been quite good in the three full games with Ben:

Week 1: 8 catches, 84 yds

Week 2: 2 catches, 15 yds, 1 TD

Week 8: 10 catches, 105

Vernon Davis.. I know its only been a week, but he's a gifted TE, and Payton knows how to exploit TE matchups. I would not be surprised to see at least 4/60/1 TD, and multiple red zone looks

I understand this is the super sleeper thread and the McCluster analysis is well presented, but isn't Mularkey saying that Andrews will b the bell cow RB?

Quinton Patton. Boldin's not going to play and Gabbert's making the start. Tomsula actually got asked about the chemistry between Gabbert and Patton from their time on the practice squad together...response seemed elusive to me:

"They're all teammates, you know what I mean? You're talking about the practice squad, or the look teams, but they've all been teammates. So, I see the ball getting spread around to where it's supposed to be. I wouldn't categorize it that way. I think you're looking for, you know, like that's his go-to guy. I haven't seen that. I've seen the ball going where it should go and spread around."

Niners will be playing from behind and I don't see Gabbert launching it down the field for Torrey Smith or Jerome Simpson. Super deep sleeper, but Patton could be a sneaky play, especially in PPR.

They'll run McCluster out of the slot...he'll essentially be playing as a WR most of the game, but his RB designation in fantasy makes him a good RB sleeper.

As of right now it seems like the TEN hydra will be limited to two heads this week. Sankey didn't receive a touch after botching a KR last week, West was waived and Cobb isn't going to be active until week 10.

On average, team backfields are utilized 30 times a game vs. NO (22 carries, 8 targets). Even if Andrews sees similar utilization as he did last week (utilized 19 times, season high) that still leaves room for McCluster to get ~10 touches. I'm really not infatuated with McCluster this weeks but recognize he's likely good for 10-12 points in PPR. Due to byes/injuries RB choices are slim this week and I think he creeps into RB3 territory.

So I am not submitting this name with a ton of confidence but, just someone to think about. Jerome Simpson

He had 10 targets in his first game off suspension and although he only caught 3, he had 10 targets and I think Gabbert will be throwing it and has to be more accurate than Kaep and Q is out again. Simpson had some talent at one point, just saying if you are desperate.

Don't know why but I'm feeling love for Darren Sproles today. Bradford may check it down 10 times against a pass rush the O Line can't contain.

Just picked up Harry Douglas. Had picked up Kerley, but looks like Marshall and Decker will probably play.

With Kendal Wright out, Douglas will be playing the slot.

Not sold on Inman and might need a bye week filler next week as well and the Chargers are on a bye week 10.

Any love for Gaskins from SF?

I didn't think so.
:oldunsure: #1 add this morning. Full desperation mode for some FF teams at this point with the playoffs in 25 days.

If you're looking for a last minute pickup plug & play [former Cowboy] Dwayne Harris will get a lot of targets from the slot with Reuben Randle out. 2 TDs last week, could have had a 3rd but Eli overshot him. Bonus pickup if you're in a return league. Productive 4 of the last 5 week.

Where did you see that Randle was out?

edit: @rapsheet As for on-field news, #Giants WR Rueben Randle, listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, is playing today, I’m told.
