Surprise STUDS AND DUDS - WEEK ONE (1 Viewer)

I'll add a dud...Chris Henry. 1 reception for -5 yards. When Housh went out, people were hoping he'd be more than serviceable.

I didn't see the game (so I don't know whether he was on the field much), but perhap he's so far in the doghouse Washington is the true #3 and Henry was getting preseason time to keep other Bengals healthy.

Studs Ahman Green, no TDs but didn't think he could run against the Chicago D and he looked great.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Ahman Green yet.He came out with an impressive 110 yard rushing. 22 yars receiving. Against the Bears D.
1st possession· 1-10-GB17(12:00) A.Green right guard to GB 20 for 3 yards · 2-7-GB20(11:26) A.Green right guard to GB 26 for 6 yards .· 3-1-GB26(10:59) A.Green left tackle to GB 26 for no gain 2nd possession· 1-10-GB37(4:34) A.Green up the middle to GB 40 for 3 yards · 2-7-GB40(3:59) A.Green left end to GB 44 for 4 yards 3rd possession· 1-10-GB47(13:13) A.Green up the middle to CHI 46 for 7 yards · 2-3-CHI46(12:33) A.Green left guard to CHI 44 for 2 yards · 3-1-CHI44(11:54) A.Green right tackle to CHI 44 for no gain 4th possession· 1-10-GB25(4:31) A.Green left end to GB 39 for 14 yards · 1-10-GB39(3:51) B.Favre sacked at GB 32 for -7 yards · 2-17-GB32(3:17) A.Green left tackle to GB 32 for no gain. These are his totals from the first half, except for the 14 yd run, not very impressive. Most of his yds came in the 4th quarter, after the game was out of reach for the packers. He had 57 yds in the 4th qtr. It would seem that the Bears rushing defense was getting the job done. They were concentrating on the pass defense in the 4th quarter, and let Green get some garbage yds. Green does have some potential this year, but his 110 yds are not an indication that the Bears rushing defense is bad.

My week 1 studs:

LT (duh)

Bush

Gore

Chester Taylor

Wilkins

My week 1 duds:

Delhomme

KJ

Lundy (not a real surprise)

Delhomme (he was stinky enough to mention twice)

I'm not sure I'd put Bush in stud status just yet. Also, Chester Taylor only averaged 2.8 yards per carry. It was a good sign that the Vikings seem determined to have him be their main back. They also gave him the goaline work. These are all good signs, but he'll have to do much better running the ball to keep things that way.

I was really going by how they scored for me rather than their actual performance. So, even if Chester's ypc was crappy, I'll take 131 yards from scrimmage and a TD every single week! Also, I get pts for return yards. So, even though he didn't have a TD, Bush had 141 total yards. That sounds pretty studly to me (especially in your very first NFL game).
