Agreed.Yul and Earl are my 2 favorite winners. Both were nice guys (IIRC), and they made it look so easy.
I always felt Earl's was more impressive than Yul's due to the fact that his II was required to be played before the votes were read unlike Yul's which was a get out of Jail Free card.
But, Yau-Man got screwed that season and played one of the best games since Rob C.
Some interesting facts about Earl
- Earl agreed to appear on the show two days prior to the filming.
- Earl never saw Survivor and hardly knew what it was when he got recruited to be on Survivor: Fiji.
- Earl is one of six Sole Survivors to win Survivor without winning Individual Immunity.
Some interesting facts about that season
- Prior to the start of filming, Mellisa McNulty suffered a severe panic attack and the Medical Team deemed her participation in the game too risky, thus she was pulled from the competition. As a result, this was the first season with an odd number of castaways.
- On December 5, 2006 (Day 37), a coup d'état was initiated by Fiji's military leader, Frank Bainimarama. While there was some speculation that a full evacuation of the Survivor crew members from Fiji would take place, only a few crew members on the mainland were relocated to the second-smallest island. However, the political turmoil prior to the coup did prevent the families of the cast members from coming to Fiji to participate in a reward challenge (as usually occurs on Survivor) that occurred towards the end of filming.
the constant whining to the camera "what about me.. why so worried about her.. what about ME!
" showed how insecure she really is.
