Yeah, looks like it just came down to numbers. If he's thinking final 2 with Cass then Trish has to go at some point and this was the opportunity to make that happen.

I've tried to reason that keeping the one person who definitely has his back is the way to go but there is just as good an argument to get rid of her.

Spencer remaining in the game may actually help him as long as he doesn't win immunity next time. I think Spencer is a bigger target where certainly it would have been Tony if he doesn't win immunity next time out.

Im starting to think Tony isn't going to win this. He's not good enough at the immunity challenges to pull it off. This is where keeping Woo may hurt him. If it comes down to 3 and Woo wins the immunity challenge over Tony, it's game over for Tony and if Spencer wins immunity next time out, there is a good chance of the same result.

Spencer is going to lobby hard to take Tony out if he happens to take the next immunity. Would Kass take the chance of some kind of tiebreaker or just take Tony out like Spencer wants?

There's no guarantee that if woo wins immunity, he'd take out tony. He may think like kass does that tony has burned bridges and would be good to sit next to at the end.

Chaos Kass is the worst. Stirring #### up is great, but when you do it just to be an ### when there's not currently a target on you, it's just stupid. I'd be fine with anyone besides her winning, even though woo isn't deserving

I dislike him. Although he was more tolerable this episode than he has been in a while.

You're probably right about the jury, though. They're a fairly emotionless bunch (aside from Sarah's shocked looks, which are getting a little old), so they're hard to read, but I don't sense too much Tony animosity from them. If he's in the final two, there will be lots of talk about gameplay and such, and unless he's sitting with Spencer, I think he wins.

And you're right there are definitely viewers that dislike him. I just don't get this sense that every player wants to sit next to him at the end as if it's a mortal lock that he'd get no votes

I was wondering how this season matched up against the others. I enjoy the show and really liked this season but only watched about two other seasons through to the end.

Curious, have they ever started with just one big group from the start rather than having two tribes to merge? It would be interesting to see the players scramble to form their own groups within.

The SO at one point this season referred to him as "her eye candy," after which he was promptly booted, and then when he showed up sans hat at his first jury-member tribal, she was all "Was his hair really that thinning the whole time? Am I insane?"

because he's planning to use the (bluff of the) special idol to protect himself in the next TC. so he had to use the normal idol this time.

It's what he said he was going to do. "I have to play one at five, and the special one I can play at four." That rumor, he hopes, will keep Spenser/Kass/Woo from voting him out next. The thought of him still being able to use the idol should frighten them..

Yeah, they did miss the point; I think the answer is that he wanted Trish gone. He has to have Kass there because she's his chosen goat, and he either wanted Woo around to vie with Spencer in immunity challenges, or he thought that voting out Woo might hurt him with the jury.

Tony voted Trish out because she might vote for him as a jury member. Kass would never.

Confirmed by Jeff in a post earlier.. No idols can be played after 5..

But, based on Jeff's comments they didn't plan on Tony using the "Special Idol" as one that could be played after 5( which it can't) and, from what he said, they let him run with it.

But, based on Jeff's comments they didn't plan on Tony using the "Special Idol" as one that could be played after 5( which it can't) and, from what he said, they let him run with it.

It was also confirmed on the show when Tony was devising his "I know this, but they don't" strategy for the "special idol".

If there is a final 2, there is no way that Tony and Spencer will be the final 2.

There are 2 options with them both in a final 3.

Final 3 - Tony, Spencer, Kass OR Tony, Spencer, Woo

For Tony, Spencer, Kass:

Tony wins immunity - Takes Kass

Spencer wins immunity - Takes Kass

For Tony, Spencer, Woo

Tony wins immunity - Takes Woo

No freaking way he does that. Woo has done nothing and Spencer is "likable" to the jury, i.e. he didn't do anything to most of them. Taking Tony gives it a possibility that people reward Tony's game play. Spencer versus Woo isn't like a Hantz versus a good guy type of situation. Kass and Woo, that would be a toss-up depending on how people feel that day.

Honestly, I see Spencer and Tony as the potential winners with the only other possibility being a Kass/Woo final. Then I would have no idea, but I would lean Woo unless Kass completely outguns him in the answers, which is possible when he continues to ask her what she thinks. If final two, I just don't see a Spencer/Tony possibility. Whoever had the upper hand would bring Kass or Woo.

The only way is if he convinces Woo and Kass they do not have a chance going against Tony in the final. That is not going to happen since Kass in her perverted mind thinks she can easily beat Tony at the final. I would love to see Spencer and Tony at the final because they both deserve it for different reasons.

Spencer might win but there is going to be a push to take out the next strongest player. I know Spencer doesn't want to go against Tony, now he just needs to convince Kass that her best chance is if Woo is still in the game.

Kass plays on emotions half the time so she would probably feel good about voting Tony out anyway.

I think Tony is gone if Spencer wins. For sure Spencer can convince Woo of that, Kass is the wildcard.

Agreed. Also, if I am Spencer and I win the next immunity, I am pushing Kass hard to vote out Tony. I would tell her that if you vote Tony out, you'll get my vote for the million over a final 2 of Her and Woo, if you don't I am voting for Tony for the million in the final 2 of Her and Tony.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch this week (my satellite was fritzy due to the storms), but IMHO, she should take Spencer. I think Kass is a longshot against both period, but maybe she will have an easier time against Spencer. I don't think she can say she played better than Tony. She is more disliked and she wouldn't be the king pin if you will against Tony. It was his crew and his decision making that made the jury, not hers. You could easily say she was just one of Tony's crew. I think she might have an easier argument that she helped Spencer get to where he is, not the other way around.

Either way, I think she is a loser, but just thinking about arguments, I think she has potential to sneak ahead of Spencer with her answers and if he royally screws up, but I think she really isn't much different than Woo and Trish in Tony's team.

If that happens, Spencer has to play up the fact that she can't stand him and that she will lose against him. Basically count out the people that will vote for him and tell her that by taking Tony she will be handing a guy she hates 1M. Let her know that she can't argue she controlled the game more than Tony but definitely can argue she controlled the game more than him (Spencer). While Spencer has done a great job staying in the game, he has been pretty much on defense.

It was good game play and I think they recognize that. Spencer is the only one that has matched Tonys game. He wins because he not only has had a better social game, but he's won a significant number of challenges not to mention was the only one performing at challenges for the brain tribe. I don't see any scenario where spencer loses if he's in the final.

I think you're giving Spencer's game too much credit. He was unable to break away any members of Tony's alliance to his side. Maybe he's able to at 4, but despite some of the dysfunction in Tony's alliance, the core of it held together as long as it could.

Tony is not well liked, nobody really appreciates all his bald faced lying and swearing on everybody. I have my doubts whether he can beat Woo, depending on how cocky he is in the final interrogation.

He's got about the same chance against Spencer as Kass has against him.

Even in this scenario Kass has 5 of 9 jurors that promised to not vote for her.

Giving it to Woo would be a travesty, and I think they're all big enough fans of the game to know it.

If you were scoring this game, Woo's scored would be close to zero. Kass' would be negative. She's closer to Colton than Russell.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a Survivor where one person, who lasted this long, had very clear and memorable one-on-one interactions with so many people that would absolutely guarantee they hate her.

That said, I'll be psyched if she makes it back as an all star. Tony, Kass, and Spence all ought to be locks for an invite at some point if the show continues going strong.

Tony is gonna be on this show at least another 3 times. Dude is about the best casting find they ever had. He is likable, funny, nutso in the head, extremely passionate about the game and never whines at all.

I think he is just built to play this game. other people have to think and strategize and really work at it, but I think his personality makes him a natural fit for the game, and I don't think he really has to work too hard at it at all.

So in watching the preview for the finale they mention 3 tribal councils which some people in this thread meant it will be a final 2 this season. However, isn't it considered a tribal council when the finalists give their speeches and answer questions from the jury? If that is the case, that would support a standard final 3.

Heard an interview with Cochran, where he was talking about what makes Kass so fascinating to him as a viewer, and thought he had an interesting take on it.

She's essentially the same pseudo-strategical flip-flopping basket case we've seen dozens of times by now, including with Tony this season. Except that with all the rest of them, they're manic, hyper-interested game players. Whereas Kass seems to be almost devoid of the capacity for facial expression or actual human feeling. She gives off the same eerie feeling you got seeing Hannibal Lecter describe eating a victim -- like he's describing doing the laundry. Totally disconnected. The things that should go with her penchant for chaos are totally absent in her personality. Gives an odd lizard-like feel to her whole persona, which is something we haven't seen on the show before.

I thought it was interesting.
