Swing for the Fences - WR/TE (1 Viewer)

Alex Smith's 41 receptions last year were the most ever by TE on a Jon Gruden coached team.

That said, I think he'll reach that number this year and then some. I suspect around 50 or so.

Ben Troupe - Volek looked eary and often to his best receiving threat in the fist preseason game. Let's not forget Troupe had one of the best rookie seasons in the history of the NFL(Top 20 season in terms of rookie TE receptions)90 receptions is possible. Troupe would only need an increase of 2 receptions per game and with Kinney out it's very possible he could get that. With his athleticism and with that reception total you could see Gates type numbers...I'll say it one more time...Gates type numbers. :football: His current ADP is a joke.I don't give away all my secrets, but I'm feeling generous today. :saint:
Troupe will be solid but I'd be surprised if the Titans' TEs caught over 100 passes again this year. This year they actually have a WR2...Barring a Kinney trade I honestly believe this will be TEBC again which will make it hard for Troupe to achieve elite status.Kinney is supposedly only out another week or so after getting his knee scoped.

The 200+ TE targets for the Titans in 2006 was an aberration

Troupe & Klop (TE in Linehan offense) at TEToomer, Jennings, and Travis Wilson at WRTravis Wilson has big play ability and only really has oft-injured Jurevicius and Edwards (still not practicing) ahead of him.
We must me Sooner homers, Jeff. I love getting him late in my dynasty rookie drafts. I do agree that he is under the radar. Don't think I would sack up and draft him in a redraft league though. Hope I am wrong.

Daruis Watts - just elevated to 3rd WR, (Walker's knee still an issue)

Tony Scheffler - Looking very solid in Broncos Camp

Jason Avant - with all this Baskett talk, this kid is a better prospect, imo.

Greg Jennings - may get the start and he could excel in GBay

Wali Lundy - could step in to a major role early, stud-like stats at Virginia.

Bryant Johnson, mentioned in the first post is the 3rd WR for Arizona. They have him in for plenty of plays and if he keeps progressing and teams are doubling Fitz or Boldin this guy could see a nice increase in targets. That said, he is the fourth option. He can be worth a late round flyer for matchups and of course (God forbid) if there were an injury.

Jennings GB, their be lot's of balls flying in G.B. with their defense, and I question if Fergie can make it through a season without being hurt, anyway this kid looks great in camp.

Jermaine Wiggins.

71/705/4 two years ago. 69/568/1 last year. That's good enough to make him Minny's leading receiver for two years running... and don't look now, but KRob and Burleson have both skipped town. I could see him nabbing 80 catches this season, and if he starts getting the TDs to match (and Childress has a history of TE involvement in the red zone), he could be HUGE this year. Other than Troupe, I don't think any late round TE has as much potential to shock everyone and become a top-3 performer.

The only problem with Wiggins is Kleinsasser. Expecting to see a more even split in receptions between the two. I still like Jermaine better than the other TE's being drafted around the same time.

Wilford

70 for 800 and 10TD's

Red Zone Stud this year.

Bubba Franks is 100% and a red zone fav of Favre's. He may go undrafted in most 12 team leagues. He can easily bounce back for double digit TD's. Sneaky sneaky sleeper.

Don Seeholzer, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings have traded in their two-tight end offense for a West Coast scheme, but offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said TEs Jermaine Wiggins and Jim Kleinsasser still will be on the field together at times. "Jim's kind of been pigeonholed as our blocker, and Wiggins has been pigeonholed as our pass receiver," Bevell said. "I think we're going to make them both more well-rounded players. We'll let Jim go out and catch a pass every now and then. We'll have Wiggins standing out there and blocking on the end. And that will keep us more balanced offensively." Wiggins will still get plenty of work, making him a decent No. 1 tight end.

I surprised how many people are still on Drew Carter.

- They went out and signed Key who seems to be the perfect compliment to Steve Smith.

- Colbert had an AWFUL year last year, but by all reports his turnaround this summer has been amazing.(sorry BassNBrew, I know you're going to chime in on this one)

- CAR drafted Williams in the first round so if(when?) Foster gets hurt they'll still have a talented runner to lean on and still won't have to air the ball out.

I think Travis Taylor outproduces most of the names mentioned here.

I like Marcedes Lewis as a nice sleeper TE. Should do well in the Jags O.

I agree with Crotchery and Williamson(even though I am sure he will move up in drafts from 14th round now)
