Take advantage of divisional teams with bye week issues? (1 Viewer)

When I see teams that have bye week issues I usually try to make a trade offer while they are in a position of weakness. I noticed that my divisional rival is only starting 1 RB this week because his others are on bye and he also has two questionable WRs. We start 2 RBs and 3WRs. I was about to make a trade offer and hope that in his desperation he'd take a deal he might not normally but instead Im thinking Id rather have him lose instead of giving him a player that he can start. Im 6-4 and in 1st he's 5-4-1 and in 2nd. I have a matchup this week that Im not confident in so his potential loss seems more beneficial than the potential of helping my team.

How do you all deal with these situations when they are with your divisional rival? Im hoping this is a general strategy question and belongs in the Shark Pool. If it need to be moved to the AC then I can make it more specific to my team.

Depends on the value the trade does for your team. If you can upgrade your team that gives you better position to win moving forward, why wouldn't you do it? You have a 1-game edge and if you trade when he is desperate, that should result in an upgrade for your team overall. As for division, I would imagine you have 3 more weeks. Are you concerned about winning the other games at all? What's his schedule look like? How deep can you go in the playoffs before/after the trade if you were to make it?

Lots of stuff to look at here, but in my opinion, if you have the opportunity to trade to improve your team to make a run for the playoffs, seems like a no brainer.
