Taking Advantage Of Owners That Panic (1 Viewer)

I tried to get AJ after this week. What did the owner counter with? She wants Ray Rice, Marshall AND Romo just for AJ. LOL!!!!!!!!
Curious what you offered. If someone lowballed me for AJ I might come back with a similar counter.
I offered Marshall & Addai I believe.Regardless, this is her 1st year playing FF & she does not know the value of players. She thinks he is worth a lot b/c she scored the most points week 1. Further proof, this damn hobby is all luck.
I certainly wouldn't consider that a lowball. My apologies for any inference.

We've talked in other threads about the all important balance in reacting to week 1. In my opinion, you can't ignore the things we've seen happen in week 1 but at the same time, you don't want to panic either. There are two types of over reactions:#1. The guys you think will be good that had a bad Week 1 and their owners are panicking. Call these Week 1 Under Achievers. #2. The guys that you think won't be that good but had a great Week 1. Call these Week 1 Over Achievers.Obviously, you'd want to deal the Over Achievers and obtain the Under Achievers. What players do you see in those groups? And more importantly, why?Like we did with the outstanding What I learned in Week 1 thread, let's please keep the discussion mostly one way with you throwing out what you think and not debating what other guys are saying. Thanks.J
Under achievers - QB: Schaub, McNabbRB: DWill, Matthews, ReggieWR: AJ, Bowe, MSWTE: Witten, CelekOver achievers - QB: GarrardRB: McFaddenWR: Mike Thomas, Beaston, Nicks, NaaneeTE: Mercedes LewisI've already seen Celek dropped for Lewis at TE in one 10 team league. I think the Jax passing game just took what the defense gave them and that MSW moves up while Thomas moves down. I also don't see a lot of 3 passing TD games with less than 200 yds of offense in Garrard's future. Similarly, Houston won't be able to ride Foster all year and Schaub and AJ will still have great seasons.

There were several others but I got tired...you talk about wanting to clean up the clutter in the SP? Maybe you should start by setting the example. Mod or not, why must you start your own thread to discuss what is essentially a buy low/sell high topic?

Merge some of these things together. Otherwise it dilutes the conversation by forcing people to pick one of the threads and it causes others to miss on some potential quality.
Mod? :goodposting:

I dont think it dilutes the conversation at all nor miss on potential quality. Outside of a few posts, this thread has been excellent because lots of good posters have contributed. We can disagree there and that's cool. But for me changing how I post, I don't see that changing. I think you guys have done a great job of cleaning up clutter this season. Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback but please let's drop this line and get back on topic here. Thanks.

I can see those jayrod. The one that sort of feels like a guy that might not be a fluke is Garrard. It'll be fun to watch this week.J

with this theory in mind I made a deal for Gore Today... I gave up a bit for sure as I used Steve Smith (car) and Mcfadden as the main pieces. Using Mcfadden now to try and upgrade as RB could be genius or smack me in the face. Mcfadden looked great in week one however after ADP my RB's were Mcfadden/Bush and Bradshaw. I didnt wanna go through the mind games of who to start each week. I love having Bradshaw as my 3rd and any line-up that features ADP and Gore is scary.

My other WR's are Nicks and Megatron

So I sold really High on Mcfadden and Bought as low as I could on Gore.

I'm hoping, at least, that we can look at both DWill and JStew and consider them both to be underachievers.

I would also consider Bowe to be underachieving as well. It was a pretty raining evening for KC and SD Monday.

My over-achiever of the week? Arian Foster. I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes the year top 10, but I would suspect that a lot of people had him on the bench this week waiting to see what their shark goggles got them in the draft. Right now he's getting more hype than Finley.
