Talented Receivers that no one knows (1 Viewer)

Josh Morgan!! Crabtree might actually enter the 2010 draft...leaving only Morgan and Isaac Bruce in San Fran...I like Morgan this year.
Someone with sense. Josh Morgan is a LEGIT shot to bust out this season.... I already felt that he was the best WR on the team....(even with Crabtree there). And now with his hold out that Crabtree is involved in...sign me up for Morgan please..
who hasn't heard of josh morgan?

My breakout guy is Michael Clayton. Everyone writes him off, but to me, it seems plausible that he was in Gruden's doghouse, and he'll flourish with a fresh start. The contract they gave him implies that they think he's got potential to be really good for them. There's also that weird camp that Fitzgerald held with Jerry Rice, which had something like Fitzgerald, Greg Jennings, Brandon Marshall, Lee Evans, and... Michael Clayton? What's he doing on that list?

It's not likely to happen, but there are enough signs that if it does happen, we'll be able to look back and say we should've known. I've picked him up in my dynasty leagues for pennies this offseason - we'll see how it works out.

Mike Wallace - Steelers - fastest guy on the team.
most people know about him, but do you think he beats out Sweed &/or McDonald this year?
He is a lot less known than most of the players mentioned in this thread and yes I believe he beats out Sweed and McDonald for #3From Football guys news -PIT - WR Mike Wallace talk of training campSource: Jim Wexell - SteelCityInsider.comJim Wexell, of SteelCityInsider.com, reports that Pittsburgh third-round pick WR Mike Wallace has the team excited because his raw speed will threaten safeties, forcing opponents to play cover-2 looks against their offense. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said Wallace is "probably two years ahead of Nate (Washington) when Nate was a rookie." Steelers corner Ike Taylor said Wallace has better raw speed than Steve Smith and Randy Moss, but he has to learn to control his body and not tip off routes.[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]It certainly sounds like Limas Sweed better have a good second season to preserve his hold on the long-term WR3 job and starter of the future status. If Wallace creating this much buzz as a raw rookie, we can't wait to see what he can do once his game is more polished. Back to Top

Cowboys rookie FA WR Kevin Ogletree (Virginia) would be a name to stowe away for now.

Definitely a player to watch thru the preseason. Runs a 4.4 40 and has been catching everything thrown his way thus far in camp.

He's turning heads.

Sammie Stroughter/Tampa Bay and Austin Collie/Indianapolis.Stroughter missed some time at Oregon State due to injuries and (I believe) depression, and didn't play as well his final season as many had hoped. But the kid is a player, and given that Tampa's receiving corps outside of Antonio Bryant is nothing to write home about, I could see this guy getting on the field in multiple receiver sets by midseason. Don't be surprised if he turns into a productive player because he has a great work ethic.Collie played in a pro style offense at BYU and caught nearly everything thrown his way. He seems like a great fit for the Colts, and since Roy Hall and Pierre Garcon have been nothing but teases and flavors of the month, I'll go with this polished kid to make a bit of an impact this season.
Gotta disagree with you on owning Collie over Garcon. If you're talking about dynasty leagues, Garcon's the one to own. 1.) He's received a lot more hype from Colts' coaches then most young players have. 2.) He's better suited to play on the outside then Collie3.) He may have only had 4 catches last season as a rookie, but he also came from a Division III school.Of course, it's rather likely neither one will amount to much in a dynasty league. But if you're going to own one of them, own Garcon. If you're talking about redraft, neither one is worth owning as whoever wins the slot WR will only be about the 4th or 5th option in the Colts passing game.

how can you immediately write them off in redrafts? Injuries happen. could be better to have a guy like Garcon as Wayne/Gonzo's back-up then a mediocre starter especially if your just filling your roster. In the chance DC went down, the WR's would likely end up with more balls than b/u TE's. Probably depends on how deep the league is

Anyone know much about Jerome Simpson, Cin?
5th on the depth chart at best right now, behind Chad, Coles, Henry, Caldwell. From I've heard he was a disappointment last year but I haven't read anything recently about him. I like Caldwell long term (not this year, but when Chad/Coles move on) actually.

here's my list in no real order:

Hixon: I think he shines this year, nothing to back it up just a feeling

Bennett Bears: Jay will make this kid look good, the reports I have read from bearland have been great about this kid, so far

Harvin: The real deal, he could have a season like Moss did as a rookie, underline could, too much talent to not have a good year

Schilens Oakland: I think he outperforms all wr's on the Raiders, has the talent, and the desire

Robiskie Browns: This kid will be a ppr machine this year, he will start and catch LOTS of short passes, especially if Quinn is QB

Robinson Rams: Avery out for a while, I think he be the number one for the Rams. Could end up being the number 1 wr for the year for the Rams, if Avery is slow to come back.

Bryant Johnson: I think he has finally found a home with the Lions, especially with Calvin getting all of that double coverage, if the Lions D is bad, Johnson could come up with lots and lots of garabage time yards and td's

a guy most don't know is Britt Davis New York Jets. During Sirius' camp visit everyone was raving about him. Had a bad scrimmage, but has been pretty good since OTA's. That WR2 spot is still wide open and they let Urrutia go. There is a chance he can step up and take it, but he's a long shot. He needs to prove it on the field in the preseason games

I agree with all of these except Bryant Johnson. I think this guy has pretty much been proven out to be an adequate, at best, WR. He's had plenty of chances to shine. Schilens really interests me for some reason.

Andre Caldwell is a much better prospect.
Not sure that's true, but Simpson has been struggling significantly. Potentially at risk of being cut.
word is Mo Purify (UDFA from Neb) is outplaying him in camp and may beat him out for that #5 spot. Purify has talent, but he was trouble in college
Interesting. Either Waldman or Wright loved Purify coming out of school. Can't remember which.

Surprised to hear Jamarko was released! With that in mind:

"Simmons said Sunday that he chose Green Bay over similar offers from Baltimore, Cleveland (where former WMU receivers coach George McDonald is an assistant) and others"
I read that he received an injury settlement. Had been dealing with a back injury this offseason. I liked him a lot in college; would not surprise me if he catches on elsewhere when he recovers.

Robiskie Browns: This kid will be a ppr machine this year, he will start and catch LOTS of short passes, especially if Quinn is QB
There have been reports recently saying that Mohamed Massaquoi could start instead of Robiskie. What do people think about Massaquoi's prospects?

saw some blurbs how Spurlock is outplaying Jason Hill in 9er camp, doesn't even seem like they need Crabs as Ziegler was already mentioned in this thread

as i understand it, robiskie was more polished but massaquoi was supposed to be the more raw prospect. if massaquoi is ahead of robiskie then it suggests he's further along in most aspects of the game then robiskie. massaquoi could be very productive in that offense.

I think Jason Hill will put himself on the map as well. With the Crabby fiasco.
If there is a bottom of the order WR from SF to make a splash, it's Dominique Zeigler. He's been making Sportscenter type catches in camp all week.
I agree with this observation. He might have the best hands in Baylor WR history, ask Texas A&M. He doesn't have great speed or size but he has great hands.
