Talking team defense (1 Viewer)

Chicago's got so many injuries now, but Hester still gives them a great plus in leagues that score special teams TDs to Def (like mine.) Baltimore is very good, but Pittsburgh's been even better so far.

How will this hold up? Do you like some of the other rising defenses (Green Bay, Minnesota) to be good long term? Will SD get back to last year?

IMHO, Chicago is still a good D/ST unit, but are going to need 2-3 weeks for all the recent walking wounded to heal. As an earlier post said, Hester can take one to the house at any time and make up for some losses. They may get lit up vs. Detroit, but should be able to register some sacks and int's to account for some scoring. Right now Pitt, Min and NE have stood out as far as FF D/ST.

I believe a combo of Minnesota and Green Bay Defenses will be a great duo this year. My masterplan is as follows:

Week 4 Green Bay D vs. Anemic Minnesota Offense

Week 5 Green Bay D vs. Bears (Grossman/Griese = INTs)

Week 6 Minnesota D vs. Bears (Grossman/Griese = INTs)

Week 7 *Need a FA Defense This Week, GB on Bye and I dont like MIN vs the Cowboys * FA plays: New Orleans vs Atlanta for Seattle vs Rams)

Week 8 Green Bay vs Broncos (Im still not thrilled with Cutler, so INTs will be 2 minimum, plus Hawk/Barnett LBs will do well against smaller Broncos Linemen)

Week 9 Green Bay vs Chiefs (KC is pretty bad)

Week 10 Green Bay vs Minnesota again!! You could play it the other way as well.

Week 11 Minnesota vs Raiders (Stop L. Jordan, Stop the offense)

Week 12 Minnesota vs. Giants (MIN will stop the RUN so....., Eli Throwing alot will mean turnovers....)

Week 13 Minnesota vs Lions (The lions only throw so how can there not be a few picks with chances to return them for 6pts)

PLAYOFFS:

Week 14 Min vs San Fran or GB vs Raiders (Pick your Poison, both good plays)

Week 15 Min vs Bears (Although GB vs Rams, if the Rams continue the way they have been playing.....)

Week 16 Minnesota vs. Redskins (MIN will stop Portis, MIN will make Campbell throw alot, MIN will make Campbell throw INTs, MIN Defense will help me win Superbowl

IMO :blackdot: Thoughts?

In leagues where rosters are limited (and therefore carrying only 1 D/ST is prudent) Minnesota has a very advantageous schedule...many games vs. weak offenses. They've already shown the ability to put up huge fantasy points vs. error-prone teams (Week 1 vs. Atl; Week 2 vs. Det). The games vs. GB may not be as attractive now with Favre playing more mistake-free, and Griese may help the Bears reign it in a little, but the Vikes D is still a great play.
