Tampa Bay Rays 2011 thread (1 Viewer)

In less than 5 minutes after the stroke of midnight the Orioles beat the Red Sox and then Evan Longoria hits his 2nd Home Run of the night to carry the Rays, unbelievable.

Man, can't see Tampa not beating Texas. Didn't totally fry the staff tonight, momentum and I think they'll have some revenge on their mind.

Hopefully the Yanks get through Detroit and we can pick this up again.

But tonight we unite to say Burn in Hell Boston! Congrats Cappy!

You might want to slow your roll on that a bit. Texas' lineup is still far superior, one through nine. And I think the pitching staffs match up closer than most think, and Texas has home field.

Congrats Rays, that could not have ended better, and been more shameful for Boston. Awesome.F the Yankees. Tigers about to take out the other bloated payroll from the eastcoast. Say hello to Verlander and Fister. Here's to Tigers/Rays meeting in the ALCS.

Seriously, oh my god.

It literally could not be a better hour of sports. I love that Crawford dropped that ball too.

I really am in shock.

I like the Rays but Rangers are a better team. Should be a good series. Texas should be favored, they are dominate.

Rays players,

Don't be scared when you show up in Arlington. Yes, I know there are no catwalks that get in the way, but you can still play there. And those things in the seats? Those are called fans and they will be loud quite often during the game.

Yours in Nolan,

Bogart

Don't be a doosh. Rays had the better team last regular-season and the Rangers got by. Crazy #### happens. It's baseball. Ps, the Rangers weren't exactly Green Bay Packer fans in terms of attendance until a few years ago. Quite frankly I don't even care I'm so god #### happy. Doosh it up all You want.

I will say, I got some enjoyment from Papelbon's postgame interview at his locker. I don't think he even said real words. Guy looked like he just witnessed his family get murdered by ninjas.

He had the same exact expression on his face that Jack Nicholson had in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" after he had been lobotomized.

Congrats guys... you definitely were the far better team down the stretch. Now kick some ### and take the ALCS.

Watching SportsCenter... :lmao: at the endless stream of fans who got up and left in the 7th with the Rays down 7-0.

They must be suicidal. Way to miss one of the greatest moments in baseball history.

Congratulations to Cappy and the Rays; it's a beautiful today in America today.

Perhaps the Red Sux shouldn't have been swept by the Indians last April. Just sayin'... :coffee:

Kinda hard to blame anybody for leaving at that point, IMO.
That's certainly one opinion to have...I can guarantee it wouldn't have happened at Fenway though
You know what else won't happen at Fenway? Playoff baseball.

ouch!

Greatest single game in Rays history. Maddon showed everyone he's the manager of the year. Moneyball is the Rays Management, best executives of the year. How does Maddon know to tab a 190 Dan Johnson with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, and just know, "Yeah, he's gonna hit a homer here". He's got some brass balls.
