Tanking in dynasty (1 Viewer)

17 years in dynasty and I don't think anyone has ever traded pick 1 or 2 for multiple picks.
So one league??  I have seen it multiple times in every league I am in.  So has everyone else I would imagine.

Lol a tool and a master arguer with no point ever arguing over how many people trade the #1 pick for the 6 and 10 pick. Ok so it happens all the time in your Yahoo leagues. ?

6 and 10 pick? I think you’re having an argument with yourself.

As much as a mingling commissioner is undesirable, people who intentionally tank are far far worse.  If teams are not putting their best effort into winning each week, the commissioner should step in.  There is no really analogy towards a real team trying to see if they have a future franchise QB on their hands.

I don't mind a mingling commish.

;)

You are 100% correct.  It is a bad rule that gives incentive for finishing poorly and that is why we are scrapping it for next season.  Two years of bickering is enough.

Instead we are going to institute a lottery for all 8 non-playoff teams and the top 3 picks will be awarded on the result of the lottery.

For the lottery the 14th seed gets 8 balls, 13th 7, all the way to the 7th seed getting 1 ball.

There will then be a Toilet bowl with all 8 non-playoff teams and for each win earned in the Toilet Bowl that team will gain one extra ball.

While it doesn't completely take away the incentive for tanking it should mitigate it greatly.
Just put all 8 in the toilet bowl.

In an attempt to limit tanking there is a fine line between using a toilet bowl that benefits the best of the non-playoff teams and awarding the best picks to the worst teams in dynasty leagues.   It is my opinion that in order to reduce having to replace owners constantly because they can't rebuild their team and they quit, you have to reward the worst teams with the better picks.  I reduce tanking to some degree by not allowing owners to start players on byes or players that are inactive for whatever reason by inserting options off their bench if they have them.  It doesn't eliminate all tanking but it helps.  The need to keep the league competitive where the worst teams get better through the daft is still the most important component of dynasty leagues.  It also reduces league turnover.

We've already had this conversation.  I disagree with you.
