Tarantino to make R-rated Star Trek (1 Viewer)

I don't know if he works within the confines of the reboot.  If hes' doing a Mirror Universe...that could be monumental; especially if he's trying to do one that spans the OT/reboot and TNG.

It's ambitious...and it's bold....and it might work.

Now that I think about it, it would be funny if Tarantino put something from Star Wars in it. Like have someone talk about doing the Kessel Run or something.

I like his movies, and I like the rebooted series. I do not want them together.

PS The last one was pretty bad.

PSS Why wasn't Alice Eve in it

Cool, ive always wanted to stare at Uhuru’s feet for a long, drawn-out scene that doesn’t really have any justification for being in the movie.
"You know, on this side of the universe those aren't called Brazil nuts. We call 'em........"

Oh Tarantino. So predictable.

From Arian Foster's twitter -

he gon find a way to work the word n***** in deep space dialogue . i’ll watch just to see how he does it.
The question is not how he's going to find a way, it's how many times he'll use it. If you watch his most recent movies, you can tell that he has a bet with himself as to how many times he can use it and get away with it. Probably hire Samuel Jackson as a rebel klingon who calls Vulcans n-words.

Not sure what to expect. The guy has made serious films ( Reservior Dogs, Jackie Brown) without all the weird stuff in his more recent and popular films. If he sticks to directorial sense he used On those films he could pull it off.

Probably going to change it to “Klinga”.

And Inglorious Basterds and the Hateful Eight. Two of my favorite movies.

Those are in what I consider his goofier signature style. RD and JB are more serious in tone. The style used on PF, KB, IB, HE and DU wouldn’t suit Star Trek.

And frankly any director worth his salt should be able to tackle any genre competently. I don’t see Tarantino taking on this project if he had any worry he might embarrass himself.

What was goofy About Hateful Eight?
Haven’t seen it but the visual style looked the same as the other films I’m talking about. I don’t mean “goofy” in a bad way. It’s the best word I can think of for his intentionally unrealistic style.
