I love me some Logan Thomas for what he did at VT for us. But I think he's mostly done as an NFL TE. The last two seasons he averaged about 28 catches for 250 total yards. He's only had 1 good year in 6 years as a TE. The other 5 seasons were complete trash. The guy ran an option offense in college that put a beating on his body. Good dude, but at this point he's basically an on the field coach that may start cause that's a Riveria type thing with vets ... but he will quickly be replaced by Turner and Bates.

Logan Thomas caught 4-of-8 targets for 43 yards in the Commanders’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals.

That’s a more than 25 percent target share for 32-year-old Thomas, though three of his missed connections were drops. It is still the kind of usage that can keep Thomas on the TE2 streamer radar. Don’t expect anything more than compiling, of course. There is no ceiling here. The Broncos are on tap for Week 2.

Logan Thomas (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 3 against Bills.

Thomas remains in the league’s concussion protocol and will miss Week 3’s matchup as a result. The Commanders No. 1 tight end has been held out of practice all week after exiting Week 2’s contest against the Broncos, but could be back in time for Week 4. Cole Turner and John Bates will both get looks at tight end, but neither should be considered reliable for fantasy this week.

Commanders released TE Logan Thomas.

Just hours after the Commanders cut ties with left tackle Charles Leno, Logan Thomas became the latest Commander to get let go. Thomas caught 55 passes for 496 yards and four touchdowns over 16 games and posted a line of 184-1685-14 in four seasons with the team. His 2020 breakout (72-670-6) came in his first season as a full-time starter, as the former quarterback turned tight end enjoyed a bit of a career renaissance after switching positions. A torn ACL limited to Thomas to just six games in 2021, but he’s played in 30 of a possible 34 regular season games since 2022. Thomas will be 33 at the start of next season and could still offer value as roster depth. His release will save the Commanders $6.5 million against the cap.
