TE Rob Gronkowski (1 Viewer)

Are those with the Bennett handcuff holding onto him or going with other waiver option TEs?
Holding and not picking up another TE because I like the other guys on my roster more. But definitely thought about picking up another TE. Hoping Bennett can get right by this weekend.

Out 8 weeks.  So the rest of this FF season.  Yahoo still has him on a "Don't Drop List", so I'm stuck with him until it's updated.  I hate it when the commish sets stupid #### like this...

Gronk fell in the draft process because of back surgery and a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. Might be in play here. Hope not.

#Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will have back surgery (as @viccarucci mentioned). Injury is worse than anticipated. It’s happening tomorrow.

This has been updated.  I have him in a 3 year keeper max league and can't keep him this after this year, but if I drop him someone can pick him up and keep him for 3 years.  I tried to get the league to change this rule for years but some did not want it changed.  I will cause a major crap storm if I drop him now.

I was considering Bennett until I saw he has had ankle and shoulder injuries the last couple of weeks.  Pats have been using an extra T as a TE when both Gronk and Bennett were out last week.  I would think Mitchell would get the targets.

I wouldn't be surprised if he hung it up and just relegated himself to a shirtless life, poolside somewhere in Vegas.
Gronk has not spent a single dollar that he ever made in the NFL. He has lived off of endorsement deals and has invested or saved all his NFL money. Unlike other players that could be broke in a year or two, he is certainly in position to walk away from the game if he wanted to.

That's why he'd be shirtless, poolside in Vegas.

Is Bennett practicing? I know he's going through an ankle injury, so NE may need to rely on other weapons even if he does play, if Bennett continues to ail through the week.
Bennett has a variety of injuries and is toughing it out. His main issue is that they have been using him more as a blocker than a receiver.

NE will just adjust the offense, migrating away from 2 TE to more multiple WR sets and more swing passes to the RBs. Edelman should see a big boost in targets. He saw 28 total targets over the last two games.

Agree that this is the likely gameplan, with the real beneficiaries being Dion, White, and uptick for all WRs (as opposed to Bennett).

Was just reading up on a trade the Pats made back in the day. Traded a 3rd round pick to Jacksonville for a 2nd and a 7th. Jacksonville used the pick on CB Derek Cox. The Patriots used their picks on Gronk and Edelman.

The Pats moved up a round and got an extra 7th??

The history of injuries is concerning and Gronk seems really old but he is still 27 at present.  I keep asking myself when do I cash out on this guy and get value without taking the huge hit in losing the big advantage he gives you at his position?  He probably could walk away but he seems to like playing and the fame so I assume he will be back and is still young enough to dominate again if he wants to.

Bump everyone else.   Bump Bennett the most, he would be the red zone guy (if he's even healthy).  Bump all the little white guys.

Maybe not Blount (Misses Gronk blocking?).

JAX might have wished they had taken Derek Carr, but alas, they definitely did not.   :bowtie:

Sounds like a great way to finally get that rule changed.  ;)
