TE Rob Gronkowski (12 Viewers)

Romo played through a puncture lung a few years ago and didn't miss the next week. He was wearing a flack jacket for the next game which is much easier for a qb but It does show that depending on severity it can be a quick turn around.

Awfully quiet in here-- is that cause we all know we have no idea what the hell is going to happen? I would put $$ he doesn't even get on the plane for SF-- they say flying is a risk.

My gut says 2, maybe 3 weeks until we see him. But thats based off of nothing other than it being New England, and it being Gronk. and that hit being nasty.

Crazy irresponsible that someone (especially the Gronk owner) didn't already have Bennett rostered as a potential playoff lottery ticket.
Redraft league.. Bennett has bounced on and off of rosters all year long.  I have Kelce as primary option, but, Alex Smith has been brutal..

10 team, Std. scoring, 15 man roster size..  ..and, Bennett's past few haven't been that outstanding.  He's rostered now, but, it was more speculative based on the prognosis of Gronks injury.  Don't wish him any ill will, but, it would be nice to get some production out of the TE position with Bennett.

Pet peeve: why do fantasy websites insist on using the NFL's strict injury definitions for IR purposes? If a player missed the previous game and is not practicing, then he should be eligible for the IR spot. I went through this crap for 6 weeks with Eifert. Every Sunday he'd be listed as "Out" (so I could move him to IR and pick up a replacement), then on Monday ESPN would change his status to "Questionable", even though he wasn't even practicing. So I would be forced to drop Eifert's replacement (so I could move Eifert off of IR). Then the following Sunday he'd be listed as "Out" again, so I'd have to scramble to find another replacement.

Now the same thing is happening with Gronk. It's a dumb rule.

in my league you cant put a guy on IR, unless ya know hes really on IR.

for whatever its worth, and maybe its on WFAN.com, but Mike Francesa does a sunday football show with a sports medicine specialist by the name of O'Brien, he's been a team doctor for I think the Giants or Jets.  He cautioned that this is a very rare, unprecedented and potentially very risky injury, as there isn't much history of lung collapse.  The partial nature of it makes it more complicated but he basically said in his medical opinion based on what is known, it would be irresponsible to play him before a months time due to the nature of the injury in terms of risk of reinjury that could cause a cardiac episode.  I haven't heard anyone speak in these sorts of terms but its scary.  No dog in this fight, don't own him or play against him.

More importantly ... any word on his possible return?
NE is thought to be sitting him to be cautious. Not supposed to be a long term injury. Sounds like if this week were a do or die game, he would most likely be playing. That's the speculation, but certainly the team is mum on the subject.

I'm leaning towards sitting him...Bowles likes to dial up blitz packages and Bennett will be needed to block
I am pretty sure playing or sitting him depends on what your options are. I am starting him over Hooper, as I don't really have any other options.

Uggh. This is why Thursday games stink.

Have Ebron in the lineup in place of Gronk, but of course he plays Thursday. Really don't wanna start Ebron if Gronk has a chance to play, and I also don't wanna drop Ebron in case Gronk is out a few more games.

At the moment I think I'm gonna pick up Fiedorowicz so I can play him on Sunday if Gronk sits. Hate to carry 3 TEs but every game from here on out is a must-win.

Anyone else stuck with a Thursday TE decision?

Ebron is a decent choice anyway.

Roll with Ebron, and if Gronk comes back, great for next week.

Yes, but with Doyle it's even worse.  If I had Ebron or even Fiedorowicz as an option I'd just go with them,  Have a waiver claim in for Rudolph and I will go with him and wait on Gronk.  Can't afford a zero, but don't know how much I can expect from Doyle/Rudolph types.

Rob Gronkowski (questionable, chest) made the trip to New York.
It confirms Gronkowski is healthy enough to fly after he couldn't get clearance last week. Gronk is a true game-time decision, but is trending toward being active.

Are owners plugging him in if he's healthy and active? I feel like we get burned when doing that with players coming off injury so often that I want to sit him another week.

If he's active, I'm playing him.  Now, this attitude burned me in the beginning of the year.    Nonetheless, the upside is too big - if he's on the field, he's in my lineup.

Deciding between Gronk and Bennett in one, Gronk and Fiedorowitz in another.

Leaning Gronk in both but Fiedorowitz has been pretty steady.

I think that Gronk is essentially a very low floor/high ceiling guy today.   I see him either getting 5 pts or less--or 15+pts.   I own him in a league where my matchup is expected to be very close.   I'm hesitant to play him because if he scores on the low end--I probably lose.  My other option is ertz in a full ppr--and at this moment--I'm leaning on sticking with ertz.  I feel like ertz has a lower ceiling--but for this week has a higher floor.   Luckily Ertz plays on Monday night--so I have more time to deliberate and end up deciding to play the wrong option.  Uggh.

Rolling with GRONK.  Any options I have on WW will only net me a couple of pts.  I'll roll with gronk and test my luck.

Love/Hate relationship continues with this guy. Seems like the guy you want to have before the season starts and the guy you wonder why you have during the season. Love his effort, but has to know his limitations. No need to dive for that overthrown ball when he is already banged up.

I picked up Bennett because he seemed like both a handcuff and best available waiver tight end at the time but I will drop him to stream when Gronk is out from now on. Bennett's floor seems pretty low even with Gronk out.

Are those with the Bennett handcuff holding onto him or going with other waiver option TEs?
I have been wishy washy about this all day.  Picked up Vernon Davis off waivers in case Gronk is out agin then dropped VD for Bennett a few hours ago.  If Wash wasn't playing AZ, #1 against TE, i'd prob roll with VD.
