Gronk is so awesome, but so injury-prone. Damn it.

Ghost Rider would've taken it and been back at work the next day. That was a pretty hard hit
Being told Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has a chest injury - not a punctured lung - that is considered "not overly serious."
Now the risk becomes us being told all week he's going to be fine, and then he isn't in the gameplan at all.Schefter backtracking on "punctured lung" but it's the pats so![]()
Crazy irresponsible that someone (especially the Gronk owner) didn't already have Bennett rostered as a potential playoff lottery ticket. All news is minimizing the injury. I picked up Bennett just in case it lingers.. (Non Gronk Owner)
Redraft league.. Bennett has bounced on and off of rosters all year long. I have Kelce as primary option, but, Alex Smith has been brutal..Crazy irresponsible that someone (especially the Gronk owner) didn't already have Bennett rostered as a potential playoff lottery ticket.
in my league you cant put a guy on IR, unless ya know hes really on IR.Pet peeve: why do fantasy websites insist on using the NFL's strict injury definitions for IR purposes? If a player missed the previous game and is not practicing, then he should be eligible for the IR spot. I went through this crap for 6 weeks with Eifert. Every Sunday he'd be listed as "Out" (so I could move him to IR and pick up a replacement), then on Monday ESPN would change his status to "Questionable", even though he wasn't even practicing. So I would be forced to drop Eifert's replacement (so I could move Eifert off of IR). Then the following Sunday he'd be listed as "Out" again, so I'd have to scramble to find another replacement.
Now the same thing is happening with Gronk. It's a dumb rule.
Really?Dirty hawks.....that was a dirty hit on a defenseless receiver!
Is the OL going to be able to block without him?So can bennett actually be part of the gameplan this week?
NE is thought to be sitting him to be cautious. Not supposed to be a long term injury. Sounds like if this week were a do or die game, he would most likely be playing. That's the speculation, but certainly the team is mum on the subject.More importantly ... any word on his possible return?
Is the OL going to be able to block without him?
I am pretty sure playing or sitting him depends on what your options are. I am starting him over Hooper, as I don't really have any other options.I'm leaning towards sitting him...Bowles likes to dial up blitz packages and Bennett will be needed to block
Ebron is a decent choice anyway.Uggh. This is why Thursday games stink.
Have Ebron in the lineup in place of Gronk, but of course he plays Thursday. Really don't wanna start Ebron if Gronk has a chance to play, and I also don't wanna drop Ebron in case Gronk is out a few more games.
At the moment I think I'm gonna pick up Fiedorowicz so I can play him on Sunday if Gronk sits. Hate to carry 3 TEs but every game from here on out is a must-win.
Anyone else stuck with a Thursday TE decision?
Yes, but with Doyle it's even worse. If I had Ebron or even Fiedorowicz as an option I'd just go with them, Have a waiver claim in for Rudolph and I will go with him and wait on Gronk. Can't afford a zero, but don't know how much I can expect from Doyle/Rudolph types.Skoo said:Uggh. This is why Thursday games stink.

Rob Gronkowski (questionable, chest) made the trip to New York.
It confirms Gronkowski is healthy enough to fly after he couldn't get clearance last week. Gronk is a true game-time decision, but is trending toward being active.

If he's active, I'm playing him. Now, this attitude burned me in the beginning of the year. Nonetheless, the upside is too big - if he's on the field, he's in my lineup. Are owners plugging him in if he's healthy and active? I feel like we get burned when doing that with players coming off injury so often that I want to sit him another week.
Same here. This is a different injury though. If he plays seems like he wouldn't be limited. If he's active, I'm playing him. Now, this attitude burned me in the beginning of the year. Nonetheless, the upside is too big - if he's on the field, he's in my lineup.
I was in the same boat. Starting Ebron was our best decision at the time even though it didn't work out. Gronk needs to get healthy and finish the season in the field.Looks like Gronk is expected to play. I wish I would have left Ebron on the bench.
You would have lost either way, as it happened.Looks like Gronk is expected to play. I wish I would have left Ebron on the bench.
I still might win, no thanks to Gronk and Ebron. Down to kicker vs. kicker. But I think this is the last year I will keep Gronk. So talented, but just too many injuries. You would have lost either way, as it happened.
I have been wishy washy about this all day. Picked up Vernon Davis off waivers in case Gronk is out agin then dropped VD for Bennett a few hours ago. If Wash wasn't playing AZ, #1 against TE, i'd prob roll with VD.icehouse said:Are those with the Bennett handcuff holding onto him or going with other waiver option TEs?
