TE Zach Ertz, WAS (1 Viewer)

While last night's game was just fine, it sucks that he only had those two catches. He could have easily had a 25 point FF game, and that's the kind of weeks that win you your game.

He must have tweaked it today because he turned in a full practice yesterday. Mid week downgrades are always bad, hopefully he turns in a full practice tomorrow.

Great I grabbed injured TEs who should play next week with Walker and Clay to fill in for Ertz next week...lol

This match-up is too good (DEN allows 2nd most ppg to TEs in ppr), it does feel like almost every week a TE has had relative success against them outside of week 1. At the very least, TEs are heavily targeted vs. them. If Ertz were to sit it's possible that Burton, as the obvious move TE sub, could have some success.

I have back-ups like Kroft and Vernon Davis but assuming Ertz sits Burton really interests me. There are also other rando TEs like Jonnu Smith (if Walker sits) Higbee, Derby and O'Leary who have good match-ups this week.

I think I'm most worried about Ertz playing but being very limited.

He's playing. Stay healthy, Zach.
Hope he doesn't make it worse. Glad he's got the bye coming up.

Unrelated to injury, his targets have been trending down. In the first 5 games, he out targeted Alshon 4 times. Alshon has had more targets than Ertz in the last 3 games. I don't like it. The red zone love has helped offset it, but TDs are hard to count on.

Kid is fine Wentz spreads the ball this boy is Golden.. hes a td machine and reception yardage monster .. if he under performs in one area he produces in another category .. Money

Not sure how involved in blocking he is but thought that maybe he'd have to do a little bit more of that with the OL getting hurt.

Yeah I noticed this and it's also reflected in his target share.

Target share through weeks 1-8..

21%, 22%, 32%, 26%, 40%, 17%, 20%, 19%

It's possible teams are starting to pay more attention to him.

I'm honestly still pretty nervous. I was hoping he would either turn in a full practice or DNP today to make this decision easier. He turned in a limited practice and although I'm sure he's going to play I don't know how effective he'll be/whether he'll be on some type of snap count. This game could get out of hand quickly with Brock under center and there may not be a need to push him as PHI heads into a bye.

I watched Zach Ertz warm up for a while and didn't think he looked great. Pederson said Ertz is going to play but keep an eye on that hammy.
My fears are materializing.

So the question becomes...gamble on Burton (who has looked good in the TE handcuff role before)? I'll probably be rolling out Vernon Davis, with no Reed or Crowder--and no Earl Thomas for the Seahawks.

I just picked up burton and going to start him over Maclin in TE premium league

Burton is good and this match-up is about as good as it gets. I need to decide between Burton and Kroft now and I'm leaning Burton.

Burton is very capable - better athlete than Ertz - not as crisp of a route runner but is very dangerous after the catch, nice soft hands as well.

Added Burton as well, fingers crossed.

:violin: I drafted Ertz and then followed up with K. Rudolph because he fell too far in the draft.. would love to start Rudolph but he's on bye this week  :ptts:

88 is Burton? You’d play him over Vernon Davis (and I won’t call you out if you’re wrong)? :) I just know nothing about Burton. Thanks
I like them both. I'd probably stick with Davis since I think Cousins will be forced to target him. I am playing Davis in place of Ertz in one league.

NFLN saying Celek would be the guy which doesn't sound right but you like Burton over J Cook type options?
You're a PHI homer right? You know about Burton. He's the move, Celek is the in line. I'm sure Celek sees targets as well but I'd rather have Burton. I like Cook vs. MIA I think that's tough. Kroft is a "J Cook type option" and I'm starting Burton over him so yeah.

I just like the match-up too much and I think Wentz is going to have to target Burton with Roby on Jefferey, Harris on Agholor and Talib on Smith/Hollins.

They're dumbasses just looking at a straight depth chart. Celek is the "backup" because he can block, so he's the 2nd TE to see the field when Ertz is healthy. With no Ertz, Burton will be the pass catcher

I agree, I have Amari too so wondering if Cook would hedge against a dud by him but the homer in me wants to pull the trigger on Burton. UGH.
