#TeamRiley - FBGs Band Together (1 Viewer)

Nothing much new that I'm adding here.  I'm certainly not a prolific poster here by any stretch (I came to this site via TheHuddle where I was much more active 15 years ago), but I lurk here daily. I've seen lots of posters here asking for help in a variety of ways.  Hell, I did the same about 9-10 years ago in the midst of a break-up and got lots of great advice.  It feels like here, unlike any other site I frequent, is a collection of good people who genuinely and truly help out someone they've never met.  It's beautiful.

All of you are good.  All of you.  I'm honored and humbled to be witness to it.

 
Wow - it's amazing enough that members of this board are so generous.  I posted to Facebook and mentioned to a few friends of our beloved departed Tremendous Upside.  Someone who I don't believe has ever visited this board, but knows the community (it's how I met TU, and therefore this friend, Mike) donated $100.  I hoped MAYBE someone would donate 10, POSSIBLY 20-25, but that says a lot. 

About TU certainly, but again about this community.  Pretty amazing.  

We are rooting for ya Riley!

just made my donation, sorry it took so long, but just wanted to give an update for anyone who has check the gofundme page lately, Over 200 donations for over $12,000....This makes me so proud to be an FBG!

 
Several recent donations are from wimmins, so this has obviously spread beyond FBG.

Lots of well-deserved love in here for the $1,055 guy/gal, and I agree, but nobody mentioned the $500, $200, $100 donations. Props. It all adds up and $10 or $27 turns into a couple of $13-14,000. Each giver played a part of something larger than themselves.

Exactly why when the FFA rallies, we do so as a monolith of generosity with a common goal. Even if it's a silly (and fun, do not get me wrong) online poll for some guy's restaurant against restaurants most of have never been to.

Sometimes it's for fun. Sometimes it's for something way more meaningful.

 
Wish there was a way to plot source of contributions on a map. I'm betting it's rare to get this activity from a few hundred individuals (approaching several hundred) where people are spread so far and wide across the continent.

I had second thoughts about using that in case shady's wife goes through the names. I can see the conversation now.

Should have donated several times with dollar bills for full effect.

 
I continued to be amazed. I honestly thought $1k was going to be a great goal. Shady, I'm so happy we can play a small part in all this. Riley is inspiring an entire community, and it's really amazing to see.

 
I may have been denied once or twice  trying to donate because I left my donating name on the same page as my card info :bag:  

 
Just want to thank you guys for putting this together.  I'm a loooong time board member back from the old days and am mostly a lurker these days.  Quit fantasy football and just a much busier life then when I was in my 20's eons ago.  

Anyway,  shady has always felt like a friend as many others I've read and conversed with over the years.   I live in Brooklyn right near shaolin island and what shady is going through just rips me apart.  I'm a newer dad with an 18 month old son and a baby girl on the way due in November.  I just can't get this out of my mind as well as the passing of Conor two years ago.  Donating money is the least we can do in a situation which we are all pretty much powerless.  

Thanks again for putting this together and giving us a chance to contribute and come together for shady.

I will be donating to that foundation. Wife and I thought a donation of $5316 (Rileys birthday) made sense. The donation will be made in the name of footballguys ffa and riley.

Nearly $15K! Glad to be a very, very, very small part of that and proud of the community here.

I look at the community around here as a sort of relationship you typically have between brothers. Most of the time you are bickering, making fun of each other, giving each other dead arms/Charlie horses, treating each other like poo and sometimes genuinely don't like each other- but dang it, you got your brothers back in a New York minute.... just look at him wrong and I will punch your face in until it collapses around your dumb brain.

 
I made a donation but am fearful it wasn't processed properly.  I didn't receive a confirmation email and I don't see an anonymous donation in the timeframe.  The Go Fund Me screen did change to pink though.  Can one of the organizers confirm?  Thx

Gofundme doesn't allow donations of over 2M.

This might be the problem?

15K just hit less than a minute ago!  $15,002!  This is simply amazing!  Like, 2 days ago it was at 2K.
