The National Football Post's Dan Pompei reports "teams are conflicted on Boise State wide receiver Titus Young."

He raised eyebrows all week during practice for the Senior Bowl, eliciting more than one comparison to DeSean Jackson. However, his interviews were apparently "a little concerning." It sounds like he's got some work to do before he is considered a safe first-round pick.

I don't know what interview they're talking about, but he sounds ok in this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPM5ttLp_Qg

Desean Jackson minus the 4.35 isn't Desean Jackson anymore. Young better run fast in Indy. And he'll need to gain 5-10 pounds like Jackson did too. Considering Jackson wasn't drafted until the second round there's almost no chance Young goes in the first even without those questions. At 4.43 someone will probably take a shot mid-2nd to early-3rd. At 4.50 he'll probably be a (wasted) 3rd or 4th round pick.

I think DeSean dropped because of character concerns, not physical concerns. If Titus' #'s and workouts go well the next few months he could be a 1st rounder...that is if there aren't character concerns.

I don't buy it.

Let's put something negative out there to try and hurt his draft stock so he falls to us-that I would buy here.

I'm not saying he's the best, I like Green, but the kid seems to do whatever is asked of him and does it well. You can't ask for more.

I don't get the Desean comparisons and wish they'd just stop. I don't see any similarity. Are we onto this now?

Every college WR was the next Wes Welker (even the 6 foot 4 inch guys) and after hearing 10k as such, Marc Mariani of the Titans finally looked a bit like Wes.

I think I might start calling guys the next Hart Lee Dykes just for fun

Jackson dropped because he was considered too small as well character issues.
I thought DeSean was just fast. I was wrong, but I didn't like him then.
I think the consensus was he was going to be a solid return guy but wasn't a bona fide starter at WR. I thought that too at the time and passed on him in my rookie drafts. You win some, others, not so much.

I drafted him in all 9 leagues at the time, all in the 2nd round of rookie drafts

Desean Jackson's don't come around too often. I don't see Jackson's level of explosion and separation in Young. In addition, his problems this past week were more route running and especially hands. If he wants to be a Wallace type receiver, he has a lot to prove. I don't get the hype concerning his talent.
