Teams most likely to trade in the draft (1 Viewer)

Shutout

Patriots aside, which teams are you thinking are most likely to trade and for what reasons or players?

I think you may see the Seahawks trade up to 10 to beat the Chiefs to Luke Kueckly (sp?).

I think the Broncos will try to move down if Cox, Brockers, and Kirkpatrick are gone at 25. I am probably wrong, but that's my guess.

Vikes could trade up into that territory for a tackle if they skip Kalil with the 1st.
That's probably about where Denver would want to go, imo. My guess is they would want a lower 1st round or higher 2nd round pick to grab a guy like David Martin or Lamar Miller and maybe take a DT or CB with their own 2nd rounder while adding another pick in the process....just a bit of an 'educated' guess on my part. I could be way off

With 13 picks Browns are definitely trading up at some point.
This. Look at the past 3-4 years. The Browns have made trades in EVERY single draft. I would bet quite a lot of money that they make at least one trade in this one as well. No way we are taking 13 players...some of those picks will be gone.

Peter Bercich (ex-Viking and guy in the know) said on the radio this morning that the Bucs and Vikes are trying to reach a deal because Tampa really wants Richardson.

Panthers trade down some to obtain a 3rd round pick? (they don't have a 3rd)
Carolina has said that they would be interested in trading down. Hearing all the rumors about them being interested in Quintin Coples at #9, I am praying that they do.
Would be very interesting since Hurney just knows how to trade one way...up.
Hurney traded down with the Jets in 2007. He traded the Panthers first (11th pick) to the Jets in exchange for the Jets first (25th pick) and second round pick. The Panthers snagged Beason in the first and Kalil in the second round.

One team that will absolutely be moving, and most likely up, is the Packers. They have 12 picks!

I see another 2009ish draft where they moved up to target Clay Matthews. I'm not sure who they are high on, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them move up to the top 15 to get a guy like Kuechy. They have a lot of ammunition. I could see them standing pat and taking Shea though, and trading other picks for more 2nd/3rd rounders.

If we're talking about just the first round, I think JAX is a mortal lock to trade. They've made it very clear that they'll have no problem trading and there might be a team or two trying to move above MIA to get Tannehill.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the Eagles will also trade (maybe with JAX).

To complete the trifecta, I'll say GB also trades up since they own approximately 50 picks in this draft. ;)

Should be easy enough (since it's only a few spots) to get done and MIN can probably still get Kalil.
I might actually feel bad for the Browns if this goes down.
If it does, expect the Bills to make a play for the Browns' pick to take Kalil.

It is kind of a screwjob, isn't it? They can still get a premium player and they have an abundance of picks in this draft to move back up if/when they want to.

Could Tampa pull this off only giving up their 5th? Minnesota gets an extra pick and still lands one of Kalil or Claiborne. There's a lot of chatter about this in Buc circles as well.

I don't understand the question. It's gotta be the 5th plus something else.

Yep, a 2013 3rd should wrap it up, or swap picks in another round.

My apologies. I meant the #5 overall, and their 5th rounder this season.

No way. Would have to be at least a 3rd rounder.
To move two spots? 3rd rounder seems pretty steep given that the Viks will likely get the guy they want regardless.I know the 'skins paid a boatload to move up 4 spots, but the difference there is a highly touted franchise QB. Given the rock solid talent in the top 5 I can't imagine giving up much more than a 4th/5th rounder to move up two spots.

Vikes run the risk of someone moving up to #4 so there has to be something of value to take on that risk. A 4th/5th is not that value.

That's usually the case, but he did trade down a few years back (can't remember where we traded FROM, but I know we ended up with the 25th pick and took Jon Beason).

How do we know that Kahil will drop? CLE could easily take him if Richardson is gone. Or they could trade the pick to a team that needs O-Line help (which includes a ton of teams in the top 15). No matter how you slice it, trading down is a roll of the dice.

I heard a local rumor from a good source that the Jaguars turned down a trade already from a team looking to trade up before the draft. The story goes that Jaguars only want to trade back if Blackmon is not there at the #7. If Blackmon is taken before the Jags pick they are still fairly confident they will be able to trade back.
