Tebow should learn how to kick field goals. (1 Viewer)

A smart team (Patriots) could pick him up and have him learn to kick field goals. You could develop a whole package of trick plays, fake field goal runs, passes.

Picture Tim Tebow tossing a wobbly strike against an unsuspecting defense on 4th and 1 faking a field goal. Or maybe he just takes the snap and bulls his way in like an ox?

I feel this scenario masks Tim Tebow's weaknesses quite well.

If New England really wanted to install a package of trick field goal plays, it'd have zero reason to acquire Tebow. Wes Welker is actually a borderline decent kicker who has been forced into service before due to injury. He has one field goal attempt and two extra point attempts (all made) already on his résumé.

Yes, because the best way to fake a 4 and 1 is to shotgun 10 meters back to the kicker so he can try to run 11 yards.

I have the feeling if Belichick gets a hold of Tebow, that he'll utilize him more than the Jets have (much like Woodhead). I also think that Belichick could be interested in the Jets offense (depending on the changes the Jets make in their coaching). I am not saying that the NEPs are looking for Tebow but I do think Tebow is a ball player and Belichick does enjoy that quality.

You think Belichick would pull ever Brady off the field so they can run the Wildcat with Tebow?

No, and I wasn't trying to say that, but I believe Tebow is a football player (though not necessarily a QB); if there is one coach that could utilize him, in whatever role, it would be Belichick.
