Tebow Trade Value (1 Viewer)

I dunno about his trade value... Iv'e started him for the past 3 weeks and every game there are at least 4-5 moments when I ask myself why this guy is even in the NFL. The prevailing attitudes about a player's value in FF is still locked to how he looks during a game, not the numbers he produces. In this sense, it would take a "Moneyball" type of revelation for people to realize his value as a FFQB.

I dont think he belongs in the NFL, but he does put up points.

depending on the type of league you are in... he may bring some decent value. Our league starts 2 QB, so he brings some value so long as he is a starter.

in a one QB league, I'd say his value is minimal. There may be one person in your league who is all about what he produces and not how he looks, and if that's the case, you may get as much value as a low end QB1 or a high end QB2, but I'd say that is the max value you would get for him today. Most people would value him as a typical QB2 who can fill in on a bye week or if there is an injury.

anyhow, my thought is that if someone in your league fell in love with the guy, you would have received an offer by now.

Good luck.

I was offered Schaub/Starks/Roddy for Tebow/Rice/Jacobs.

we have a scoring system that os 50yds passing and 10yds rushing per pt. If Tebow starts he's a top 5 QB in a start 2-QB, 12-team league. I'm leaning towards keeping Tebow but it's hard.

I would aruge that your view and projection of him is a bit in the minority. Tebow, like many QBs, might not bring as much in a trade due to the availability of other options. But in your start 2QB league, his value (assuming he remains the starter) is IMMENSE. He should be firmly in the Romo-Eli-Ben type of value, at least. "Typical QB2" guys don't put up top 6-8 fantasy numbers, and that is what Tebow has shown he gets you.

That is a big huge downgrade at QB and RB just to get Roddy.

For those spouting the silliness about him "not belonging in the NFL" here's a hint: it aint Denver's awesome defense or great special teams play that's won some of those games.

He's not a very good passer, to be sure. But he's a better passer than several NFL QBs (his QB rating is 80+...which is higher than Kolb, Cassel, Flacco, Freeman, and others) - and his running threat is a huge difference maker in terms of messing with a defense.

In terms of trade value, it's all over the place. Believers (in Tebow) will overpay. Critics won't give you squat. As long as he's starting he'll put up QB1 numbers. The risk is that he gets benched.

IMHO, it's like an injury backup - ride him while you can and just be glad you snagged him off the WW when you did.

I'd throw a late third at the situation and see what happens. Talking 30+ picks into the rookie draft.

If I owned, I would look to sell. At least while there is potential he could compete for a job next season. I get the gut feeling that Denver isn't really looking to sell unless they find a real sucker.

Moderators, can you merge some of these Tebow threads? Bumping every Teblow thread out there isn't a good thing. Before anyone posts, "Then why are you bumping this one?", well, there about 10 of them recently bumped on the front page as I type this.

I think it is the opposite, I think Denver will unload him for a sack of potatoes if they can. They don't want him in the locker room as a reminder, nor to be in the wings for fans to go crazy over again if something happens to Peyton. Plus his salary in the next two years of his contract gets crazy. They want to wash their hands of him as quickly as possible.

I own Tebow in a 14 team dynasty league. I would take a late 5th round rookie pick for him, if no one bites i am cutting him.

Just saw Tebow get traded for Alex Smith in one of my leagues. If roster limits aren't a major concern, I'd gladly deal a late 2nd to get him.

I just moved Manningham and 3.02 for Floyd and Tebow. Of note: I absolutely hated MM's landing spot, once Peyton signed elsewhere.

I gave the 3.01 and Bernard Scott for him in a 12 team PPR. Scott was a drop for me once the rookie draft comes. I like this draft, but will take a shot on Tebow for an early 3rd. I have heard from others that both loved and hated the deal for me, which is fitting since Tebow is either loved or hated as well.

Trading for Tebow right now isn't a bad idea. If he lands in Jax he could very well end up being the starter. MJD > Moreno. He could pickup up right where he left off. Just saying - it's worth a gamble if it doesn't cost much.

I have him on my roster in a 10 team dynasty along with vick and dalton. I have not got any offers yet but will most likely hold on to him anyway

I just traded FOR Tebow in my 10 team dynasty league. I gave up a 3rd round rookie pick in the 2013 draft (somewhere between rookie #21 and #30) to do it. We start only 1 QB each week, and I already have Rodgers and Flacco. I'm doing this in the extreme longshot that he officially gets his position changed to a RB so that I can use him as such. If nothing else, I should be able to trade him for a 2nd round rookie pick at least, should he actually win out the starting job next year.

I don't think you can move him in most leagues, but if you can find someone like mattyl who is willing to roll the dice - then you might get a 4th rounder this year (maybe a 3rd from a Jets homer or a Tebow fantatic) or a 3rd in 2013.

Own him in one league (12 team, 24 roster) I am going to try to see what I can get, but I think I will probably eventually have to cut him for some much needed roster space.

Yeah, my move was totally a roll of the dice. Plus we have a 31 man roster, with an additional 3 "practice squad" spots for rookies we draft and can hold for a year, plus one IR spot. I can find the roster room for him...until it's clear that all he will be is a 5-8 plays per game wildcat QB, then I'll drop him.

Our league also has a rule that if you have a player listed as one position, and they change position, we can still use him at the original position. I'm really hoping Tebow officially becomes something other than a QB! (Example, it's an IDP league and I'm using Kiwi as a DL still even though he's playing LB). "WR Joe Webb" nearly caused the league to implode!!
