Tedi Bruschi rips Ochodeuce (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Footballguy
In the game thread the other night I posed the question would Ocho be released? I ask the question because in New England it doesn't matter who you are, if you don't do what is asked of you or if you don't fit in to what they are doing you simply are shown the door..usually sooner than later. Here is what Tedi said on the radio.

In an appearance on WEEI Radio Tuesday, the former New England linebacker -- now an ESPN football analyst -- ripped into the Pats' new wide receiver for Tweeting his admiration for Tom Brady's record-setting performance Monday night in Miami according to Tom Curran of CSNNE.com.

Bruschi was exceptionally agitated about it.

"Drop the awe factor, OK, Ocho, Chad, drop the awe factor," Bruschi began. "You're not a fan, all right? You're not someone who's on another team or watching TV. You're not an analyst. You're a part of it. They want you to be a part of it. So get with the program because obviously you're not getting it and you're tweeting because you're saying, 'It's amazing to see'? It's amazing to see because you don't understand it! You still don't understand it and it's amazing to you because you can't get it.

"Stop tweeting and get in your playbook," Bruschi raged. "Wake up! If you're just waking up now - I don't know when this was, six minutes ago? - get out your bed and get to the stadium and watch some film if you still think its amazing. If you're in it and you know what you're doing and you execute out there you don't think it's amazing. You know why? Because it's what you're supposed to do. All of a sudden it's second nature. 'I know i was supposed do that, yes I went 99 yards, I threw for 517 you know why? Because we're that good and that's what we're supposed to do and that's what I thought we were gonna do.' You are still in awe to be a member of the New England Patriots offense. Join the system, buddy. "

Doesn't sound good.

Maybe Bruschi knows something about the situation that the public does not, but if that was solely a reaction to Chad's tweet then it was over-the-top and uncalled for.

Ocho's got his own problems, but Bruschi's always struck me as an arrogant jerk and this doesn't change my opinion.

Kind of a dumb thing to say IMO. From all accounts Ocho is busting his butt to learn the new system, it just takes some time.

i'm sure he has sources that he talks to inside the locker room.

Bruschi, as always, is a complete do.uchebag... Proved it with the Foster situation, and now this...

There's voicing an opinion and then there is trying WAY too hard to be cutting edge

I can see how he might say this. Ocho tweets "It's amazing to see"...kind of saying that he was watching from the sidelines which he was most of the night. If you don't want ot be a spectator then learn the system. I am not the biggest Bruschi fan so I share some of your pain but I found this to have some slivers of truth in it and wondered what everyone else thought.

I'm with you on this opinion. Bruschi is an old ex-Pat blowhard, that thought everyone he was like EF Hutton for talking about the "Patriot Way". He went way overboard, and still does, about how close to perfection the Patriots are. Where he really lost me, was when he went out of his way to trash Derrick Brooks as not a future HOF'r. From his position that he played, and in Brooks's era, that sounds petty and arrogant. Just because he knows he'll never be a HOF'r himself. on BruchiNow Ocho may not fit the system, but I don't think it's because of lack of effort or excessive use of his twitter account. Bruschi is :fishing: It's the only thing he's good at. But he can't back up his fishing trips with any credible POV.

If a word is censored by the language filter, it's because the admins of this forum want it that way. Please don't circumvent it by throwing in a period. TIA
I wish I wasn't half as strong as Bruschi, Id love to slap him... never liked his face, or his preppy parted hair.
Wat? You're a strange fella. The "criticizing other men's grooming techniques" forum is down the hall. NTTAWTT

Bruschi's just begging to be relevant....its like an analysts cry for help..
:goodposting: When players go to the booth, you start to see them make statements to get in the news and thusly increase their notoriety and earnings as an analyst. I am sure Bruschi knows people in the locker room, but this is not a guy in the know trying to help the Pats, it is a guy trying to make a name for himself in his new career. Ocho-cinco is an easy target.

This doesn't surprise me. NE is a long way from Cincy and Ocho has been acting like a fan instead of a professional football player. But this is nothing new from Ocho. The only thing that's different is that he's now in a place with professionals and he's sticking out like a sore thumb. Ocho is stepping over the line when he attempts to force square pegs into round holes. If Ocho is going to talk about higher standards then he needs to live by those higher standards.

IMO you and Bruschi are trying really hard to read way too much into this. Here is the actual tweet from Ocho, ""Just waking up after a late arrival, I've never seen a machine operate like that n person, to see video game numbers put up n person was WOW." To say that he's not working hard to learn the system is pure speculation on your part. Maybe Bruschi has some inside info but I doubt it. I don't see the Pats as an organization sharing that kind of info with people who are not currently in the organization ex-player or not. Here is a quote from Brady, "Chad, from the day that he got here, he's worked really hard to be a part of this offense and be involved," Brady told the "Dennis & Callahan" program."I don't know when he said that [about being in awe] or what he said, but I know that we're counting on him to be a huge contributor. And he expects that, too. He expects to be out there making plays. When I'm in the huddle with him, he's very excited about being out there, making catches, doing the right thing and being in the right spot."Asked about reaching the same kind of comfort level with Ochocinco as he has with Deion Branch and Wes Welker, Brady said: "I certainly hope so. We're going to need him. He does have my confidence. He has my trust. When he's out there, I'm definitely looking for him. He's going to be a big part of this offense, whether it plays out in Week 1, Week 3, or Week 5, every player on the roster is going to be counted on at some point."http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/6968925/chad-ochocinco-tweet-draws-ire-ex-new-england-patriots-player-tedy-bruschiIMO, Bruschi is just trying to be provocative to get attention for himself as a commentator.

I would say this was a sanctioned from within "hit" by Bruschi .
 Right, cause Belichick and Brady and the rest of the Pats organization has a history of dealing with internal issues through the press. Something tells me that Bill doesn't like seeing that comment aired to the public. Based on the fact that notoriety drives Bruschi's future earnings, you don't think he could possibly be trying to find ways to get his name out there? He sees a tweet and uses his past career with the Pats to give him credibility.Let's put it this way, if he really was "concerned" for the Pats well being and team unity and getting Ocho in the fold, would this have been the best way to do it? Nope, he wanted to get his name out there again and used an extremely well known player to do it.

With a name like Tedy Bruschi, I think it'd be impossible not to be a total dirtbag?

If you were going to make up a name for the biggest ####### you knew growing up, you couldn't make up a better than name than Tedy Bruschi.

:lol:He is Mr Righteous, surprised he isn't coaching already. He just looks like he should be selling whole life insurance.

Bruschi still carries BBs water

Really, anything in particular that proves that? Does BB pay him now or does ESPN? Do you really think BB, a seemingly very private guy when it comes to org matters, is spilling little secrets to Teddy? Also, is BB mad that Brady didn't get 600 yards passing? Seems like BB would not be very worried about the passing game right now.

I bolded Brady's most important comments as it relates to Chad.

Being in the right spot. Something Chad could not do in Cincy.

Palmer would still throw to him when Chad would F up the route.

Brady won't do that.

He'll go to his myriad of other options. Hell, Matt Slater will be in there as soon as Chad screws it up.

To me Bruschi was way over the top, he is acting more like he is still a member of the Patriots and their cheerleader then an Analyst, but this doesn't surprise me. Just sounded like to me Ocho was really impressed with the system and Brady's performance. Guess now it's a bad thing to be impressed with your teammates and he should have been complaining and saying that had Brady looked his way more he would have had 600 yards.

Bruschi, as always, is a complete do.uchebag... Proved it with the Foster situation, and now this...
Maybe here, but on the "Foster situation" all he did was voice what every single defensive player in the NFL would do if they had specific injury information about a player. They'd all attempt to make him as uncomfortable as possible all game long.

Tedy following the leads of other analysts on ESPN. Merrill Hoge probably saw that he was becoming irrelevant in a hurry so he started getting more controversial. That loser Todd McShay has made a career out of it at ESPN....how does he keep a job?

Tedy maybe thinks he needs to be controversial to stay relevant.

Mike and Mike this morning talked about it and BOTH think that Bruschi is wrong and went way overboard. I agree with them. Ocho is just happy not to be in such a screwed up organization and team and happy not to have a noodle-armed QB anymore. Chad's always been an extremely hard worker. Yes, he's a goofball, but he takes his actual game seriously and works at it. The Patriot offense is an EXTREMELY complex offense and not everyone is going to get it and be on the same page right away, especially in a season with hardly any offseason.

What am I missing? I have always heard that Chad was film nut and studied to the point of near obsession.
There was a lot of stuff coming out of Cincy towards the end that Chad only knew one position (X, Y, or Z) and often ran the wrong route, resulting in picks. As a former Palmer owner, this makes sense. Way too many passes where Chad went left, ball went right. And more than just the picks, lots of incompletions that way as well. I stayed away from Chad this year, I was a bit worried about his ability to assimilate himself into the system. I wasn't sure he was going to roll in, be the #1 guy all of a sudden, and shove all these other guys aside, all while getting rid of years of bad study/practice habits. I think Chad is more interested in celbrity than football now, and I wonder if he likes the idea of being a Patriot more than actually putting in the work. I'll take Deion Branch at his ADP over Ocho at his all day long. Having said that, Belichick will use him, and he will do better than one catch for 14 yards. He just won't be an 80 catch guy. There's too mnay other guys that know the system, and can perform in it already. Why force feed the new guy, when Welker, Branch, Gronk, Hernandez and Woodhead will all be in the spot Brady expects them to be in? But I think Chad will help the team down the road, make some plays. I just don't expect WR2 fasntasy numbers from him.

Chads body language stunk this past game. He is lost right now. If New England grants him some time to get in sync with Brady then he should be ok.

But if not....he will be gone by week 6.
