Meh, that girl was just jealous those old dudes weren't ogling her.Very well written by that girl, she gets it.And now for the rest of the story.

Her dress was within rules. How is this even making the news? So the school sent her home because she was wearing too short of a skirt.
I highly doubt this is the first time someone was sent home for wearing something too reveling.
I must have missed that part. Carry on then. Her dress was within rules. How is this even making the news? So the school sent her home because she was wearing too short of a skirt.

She was either kicked out because all the dads felt guilty for ogling her or because she was dancing like a whore, depending on who you believe.
Still probably not newsworthy, but making fun of conservative Virginians is always good fun.I must have missed that part. Carry on then. Her dress was within rules. How is this even making the news? So the school sent her home because she was wearing too short of a skirt.

It's getting so a girl can't act and dress like a whore without being treated like one. What's the world coming to?

How definitive of you.It "probably" doesn't. And by probably doesn't I mean doesn't.Ms prude here should get back to studying. Perhaps then she would learn what slander is and that her use of it in her journal/blog probably constitutes "yellow journalism" in the vein that she seems to disapprove of.

And if you read down further you will see this one-sided story lacks accuracy.Way to go Virginia.
If you scroll down, you'll see a picture of her boyfriend which I'm sure had NOTHING to do with it.
Christian home schoolers tend to not be very mixed race tolerant. Why? Homeschoolers are racist?Given that is was home school I wouldn't.Given that it was in Richmond, I would actually be surprised if it did.Way to go Virginia.

For some reason people who maintain and make opinionated posts from personal blogs annoy me. Therefore, this girl, who may or may not be wrong about her account of the situation but made her opinion known via her blog, annoys me. Accordingly, I typed what I intended to be a quick, joking rant pointing the finger back to her while I was taking my morning constitutional. Please unpack.Ms prude here should get back to studying. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that I'm not funny and the result was a post which makes little sense.

Yeah, I read the original story (the one from the girl's POV) yesterday. My first thought was "Oh I'm sure there isn't another side to this story. Let's just take this girl's word for it."And now for the rest of the story.

When I got into the ballroom I laughed, because I was surrounded by girls in much shorter dresses then me, albeit they were shorter, and therefore stood out less in the crowd, but it was still frustrating. I joined my group of friends, (there were six of us), and told them what happened, they were all appalled, especially considering we’ve been attending this prom all four years of high school and usually wore much shorter dresses then we chose this year. We were also a little grossed out by all the dads on the balcony above the dance floor, ogling and talking amongst themselves.
http://www.hannahettinger.com/####-the-patriarchy-guest-post-by-clare/Mrs. D said again “The dress is too short” and I asked the chaperone standing next to her what the rule was and she reiterated that it had to be fingertip length, I showed her my fingers and said ” Is this fingertip length?” and she said “yes, but I can’t make that call it’s on Mrs. D.” Then I told them I was trying to understand what they were kicking me out for since my dress complied with dress code and everyone I had been standing with would vouch that I hadn’t been dancing inappropriately. (At this point one of the girls in my group came back and said that she’d been by my side the whole 15 minutes we’d been there and I hadn’t even danced more then 2 seconds and it was completely appropriate.) At which point they told her that she wasn’t welcome in the conversation and when I protested and asked that she be able to stay to verify what they were saying to me they got very rude and said if she didn’t leave they would kick her out too.
They are all racists too.So in all actuality it sounds like a girl wore a dress that was on the borderline and went well above the borderline when she walked and danced, danced "provocatively" and was asked to stop, then became belligerent and was asked to leave. Then she makes up some story about perv dads and impure thoughts. Bunch of people with no connection "convict" the dads of being wingnuts and hurl insults. Think that about covers it.

Seems to me, that the dress as shown in pictures is pulled down as far as it can be and barely meets the fingertip requirement, based on the picture, I believe the girl who said it was to short.. That dress definitely would not have stayed that low when she was dancing. Her dress was within rules. How is this even making the news? So the school sent her home because she was wearing too short of a skirt.

People are not against her for her dress or her dancing, it is her creating a one-sided story with some probably exaggerations or possibly outright inaccuracies that people have against her. Yeah, I am sure the adults might have been a bit uptight about it, but I am sure her attitude and dis-respectfulness was also a large factor. All of you ninnies siding against the girl... stop being such prudes. Its not like her hoo-hah was on display. Barring a kid from not only a big night of fun, but a cultural right of passage, over dress length, is freaking ridiculous. If you're siding against this girl, go watch Footloose until you realize you're an old stick in the mud.

Have we even heard from any of the chaperones? I haven't even seen a single news report where they said they've attempted to reach the chaperones for comments.brohans here is what i think i read the comments here and i said hey swc you know what we got brohan we got a bunch of creepy dads who ogle young girls and now they are all lining up to try and blame this girl for reporting what happened bam sounds to me like a lot of you should probably take a long look at yourselfs and take that to the bank brohans
The "prom" was held at a church. Pretty sure there's going to be different standards for a prom held at a church. It's not too hard to figure that one out. If any kids have a problem with that, then maybe they shouldn't be homeschooled weirdos and go to a public school where they can get their freak on.All of you ninnies siding against the girl... stop being such prudes. She's 17, about to be unleashed upon the world. Once they get to that age, it's time to stop worrying about teaching her a respectful attitude. It's time to just let her finish her training for a future appearance in the "Loaning a Chick Money" thread.People are not against her for her dress or her dancing, it is her creating a one-sided story with some probably exaggerations or possibly outright inaccuracies that people have against her.
