Tenn Titans Depth Chart and WRs (1 Viewer)

I have been watching the team web sites for their depth charts and until today the Titans had Brandon Jones at WR1 and Roydell Williams at WR2. Today it shows Jones and Moulds with Roydell backing up Moulds and Chris Davis backing up B. Jones. Incidentally, L. White had been at RB2 and Brown at RB1, but those roles have changed also.

I doubt Moulds is able to stray off Roydell all year long.

No idea why the Titans signed that bum in the first place.

This isn't so uncommon for week 1. They had a camp competition all summer long and Fisher likely wants the competition to continue until someone clearly establishes themself as the better player. Last week of preseason Jones started, but in the slot. It was Davis+Moulds lining up wide. Moulds and Brown seem to be the unexciting but reliable veterans.

impossible. just a few days ago Johnny U told us that Brandon Jones was either the #4 or #5 WR. :lmao:

I have been saying it loudly for weeks to anyone who would listen, so I'll say it again here.

JOnes is the #1.

Moulds is the #2, although he has been working in the slot some as well

Davis is the "slot"

Roydell is the 3rd split receiver

Gage is the "deep" 4.

The problem with Davis, Roydell, and Gage is that the Titans will be using 2 TE sets wherein Troupe will be split (essentially in the slot). If I had to bet dollars to donuts on it, I'd say that we're much more likely to see (skill position) Young, Lendale, Scaife, Troupe, Jones, and Moulds on the field with Roydell rotating in every few snaps to spell Jones/Moulds. I think Davis, Gage, Ealy, and P.Williams combine for about 30 catches.

Was there ever any doubt that Jones wouldn't start Week 1? Because of some internet rumor? Because of a pre-season starting lineup?

GB the pre-season hype-jumpers. :lmao:

Can Moulds be effective as a possession-type WR?
Define "possession receiver?" The Titans have essentially NEVER had a receiver that was "strike fear in the heart of the opponent!" good. THey still don't. All their receivers are meant to run the routes in the book and catch the ball. There won't be anything exciting or surprising with the receivers, Moulds included.

I would not be surprised if Bobby Wade...(meant Chris Davis  leads the Tians in receptions this year) They have put a premium on Young getting rid of the ball and having a pre-snap read. His quickness is similar to Bobby Wade and he'll have tons of run after the catch opportunities. I also think Scaife will lead the team in receptions though. Chris Davis should be a surprise starter in PPR that give return yardage....I think he's the secret weapon that makes Fisher feel OK about the return game

Might be wrong but ....time will tell

I absolutely love that everyone has been devaluing Jones here the past two weeks. I love it. That was the last time you could get a potential stud WR at rock-bottom prices. I can't wait to see what he does this season...

In the final preseason game against the Packers this is exactly what the Titans showed. Tennessee played their starters well into the 3rd quarter and this is what they put on the field. I expect that to continue until players are injured or don't get the job done.Jones will be the #1 with stat lines all over. Big games followed by no-shows.Moulds will have a lot of those 4 catches for 40 yard type performances. Not sure how Davis and Roydell will shake out.Gage is good for a deep catch every few games.

I know I've been beating this drum for three years now, but don't be surprised to see Brandon Jones finish in the top20 of WRs and perhaps higher when all is said and done.

Troupe hasn't been healthy all summer, GL with those 2 TE sets
