They use a 4-3 system but the MLB has no fantasy value

MLB = R. Fowler and S. Tulloch

I feel like im missing something here... or those 2 guys just dont have talent ?

While Fowler and Tulloch aren't much more than replacement level talent, this is another prime example of why those who tell you that knowing who plays in the nickel packages aren't important are dead wrong. Taking the rotational aspect of the platoon out of consideration leaves...

74 solos between Fowler and Tulloch in 2007.

87 solos between Sirmon and Tulloch in 2006.

When the Titans' OLB situation changes, there's plenty of value in the current scheme.

Jim Schwartz didn't join Jeff Fisher until 2001, but the Oilers/Titans have supported solid production in the past. Randall Godfrey had 99 solos in 2000. He's really the last full time player in that role. The team has gone through such luminaries as Rocky Calmus, Brad Kassell, Rocky Boiman, Peter Sirmon and on and on, all of whom were rotated around or injured during their MLB tenures.

You're not missing anything. This isn't a dead role. It's just dormant.

10x ! Jene

by the way ... i think there should be a thread with all the everydown LB pinned at the top of the IDP forum IMHO

:unsure:

I don't disagree. I think it's a fine line, though, between having every generally helpful thread pinned and having to scroll through a bunch of pinned posts. That's become especially true with the AC subforum. Maybe I'll generate a pinned 2008 warehouse link thread to house our free agent, scheme, draft, every down backer threads. An extra click but might help keep the top from being too cluttered.

This would be helpful.

Right on Jene, Bulluck and Thornton are your every-down LBs. The Titans have never had a dominant MLB. I was hoping we'd go after Vilma, but they are confident with their plug-in system.

fill-the-gap MLBs are fine when you have two OLBs like Bulluck and Thornton. No need to pay Vilma or give anything for him.

Ryan Fowler may be facing a short suspension. David Jacobs, the performance enhancing drug dealer who was recently suicided, named Fowler as one of his clients. Just a heads up. Tulloch can rack up tackles if the suspension happens. Still, he won't be a 3 down player.
