Tennis - Sinner accepts three month ban - won't miss Roland Garros (1 Viewer)

Federer looks really bad and the serve is the main problem. I've seen him come back on night's like these but it was a younger faster version

I've liked Monfils, but man does he fold under pressure. Much better than the NFL game at least.
Also the problem of wanting too badly to be an entertainer. Get up two sets on Federer and no one is really pulling for you so you better find a way to just get the job done and not worry about pleasing the crowd.

Pretty sad a guy has that much talent and as soon as he's broken in the third I'm thinking his chances are maybe 5%. Even when he had match points I figured Federer would need to double fault or hit one into the stands for him to get the win.

Do you think having a coach would help him?

True about the NFL.
Not sure a coach would want to deal with the flash to be honest. Decider down a break and he hardly moves and ends up hitting a between the legs shot isn't a rare occurrence for him, you'd have to have a ton of patience to deal with his showmanship.

Won't really matter what a coach says until Monfils gets that killer attitude. Sure he wanted to win tonight but he probably is still happy overall giving the crowd 5 sets.

Anyone else going Monday?

I would be a pig in #### if it was Federer vs Djokovic.
I think DJoker is a lock to be there... Federer probably 75/25

I've been thinking since 2010 that Cilic would be the type of player that could be a champion, but then with the whole suspension I thought he was finished.

Really at this point I'd be happy if anyone in the final 4 won..... I like them all

Not having Ralph in a tournament just makes it so enjoyable and stress free overall. Basically if he's not involved the results are either awesome - fed wins.. or satisfactory (some dude who will never challenge #17)... but not devastating (rafa winning).

He is def a lock... I'm rooting hard for Roger to be there too!!

Anti-climatic ending to the Wozniaki vs. Peng Shuai match. Peng kept trying to play through cramps but could no longer stand and had to resign. Was a solid match before that. But no one is beating Serena. When she is on, she is untouchable.

I don't know, Djokovic just hasn't been able to lock in to consistently play well. Dominated the 2nd but hasn't looked great otherwise. If Nishikori takes the tiebreak or breaks he's still very much playing well enough to take another set unless Djokovic finds that top gear again.

If Nishikori pulls out a grueling match and Federer wins it'd be Fed's last best hope to win another major. Hoping it happens.

Silly errors/risks by Nishikori in that game, Djokovic seems pretty happy to be playing short points that Nishikori should draw them out longer. Make Djokovic fight like heck to hold serve so he has less to try and take yours

When's the last time we've seen Djokovic play a match in a major in which it looked like he didn't want to play long points? Last two Nishikori service games at 40-30 he was in position and just went for knockout blows for bad errors.

Even if you are a huge Federer fan you have to feel bad at least a little bit for the underdogs don't you? Any other guy with a 2 next to him vs Cilic and the crowd would be going nuts hoping to see an upset but since it's Fed it's nearly dead when he wins a point. Except for Davis Cup at the opposing countries city, Federer always has a home field advantage type crowd. Murray didn't even have a crowd advantage at Wimbledon.

Nishikori was hugely backed just hours ago in the same role. Granted some of that were probably Federer fans wanting to see their guy face Nishikori over Djokovic but even if Federer was already knocked out Nishikori would have gotten great support.

Even in Tiger's prime and his huge fan base there were enough people who didn't like him or rather would cheer for someone else that if Tiger was in a tight last round the other guys would get a lot of support.

Just one of those weird exceptions to the rule.
