Terrible Songs You Love (1 Viewer)

Bring on the dancing horses - Echo and the Bunnymen

Most people dont seem to like it for some weird reason?
Say what? Echo and the Bunnymen were one of the bands we listened to during our high school days of the 80s. I love The Killing Moon

I will say it right here that I am a HUGE Cyndi Lauper fan and all her songs and I gotta believe that "Money Changes Everything" would fit this category.

Belinda Carlisle with "Leave a Light On" or "Summer Rain"

Go Gos "Head Over Heels" or "Turn to You"

Debbie Gibson...anything she did.

Sweet Caroline is a great song that's rendered terrible when a bunch or pale, racist Boston #######s yell along with it at baseball games. But on its own, it's fantastic.

Afroman (colt 45 and two zig zags) .... Awesome song and nobody likes it
Who says no one likes it? the youtube votes are 113 positive, 4 negative. I used to rock Afroman all the time when I was mowing lawns in the early 00's. Great tunes to mow the lawn while stoned.
So if we're on Afroman, does this get a mention?
Good tune, but Colt 45 was always my jam
BC I got high got all the love.... Colt 45 is where it is at and not that much love at all.

Carpenters - Superstar

:bag:
That's an extremely good song.We need to define in here what "terrible" means.
Terrible in terms of catching grief for liking it is how i am looking at it. Every song i posted i have always liked!
This is the thing. I love a lot of songs that other people think are terrible. But I think they're pretty awesome.
those other people are wrong, the songs you like rule

I think of terrible in terms of a song that the prudent man or woman would generally agree is pretty bad. Whether you like it or not is subjective.

For instance, I don't think anyone would argue that "Pac-Man Fever" is a well-constructed diddy, yet I like it.

Thanks, GB. I knew Spice Up Your Life and To Hell With The Devil were awesome songs.

Hide you heart - kiss (and ace, and molly hatchet, and bonnie tyler)

pour some sugar on me - def leopard

roll the bones - rush

in fairness i love those BECAUSE they are so bad

Or Disco Duck.

I have a 70's top 40 Pandora station that plays some horrible stuff by Ambrosia, Player, Bee Gees etc. that I love for some reason. Probably 9 out of 10 songs that play on that station would fit this category.
:goodposting:

Some specifics that come to mind:

Into the Night - Benny Mardones

I Go Crazy - Paul Davis

I Like Dreamin - Kenny Nolan

I am a sucker for the cheesy 70s male power ballads. Love belting these out as I'm cruising down the highway :bag:
How do you even know these songs? You wouldn't feel that way if you had to live through them clogging the radio. Power ballads are bad ...these don't even qualify and are somewhere beneath them.

"I like dreaming"?? ...you have to be kidding.
Into the night - helped me get more than one girls pants off. Teen age chicks loved that song, "it's sooo romantic". Played at the right time it's was a power move in the right circumstances. Just melted resistance away.

Nothing like a good song about statutory rape to get the girls creaming.

I was just a kid trying to get laid and it worked.
