Terrorism and the NBCR threat - time to take it seriously (2 Viewers)

Yes, the world is a very scary, hideously dangerous place.  Today, yesterday and tomorrow.  I'm scared of ISIS as much as I am having a stroke or heart attack.  I'm fearful of North Korea sending a nuke to Oregon like I am wrecking my car and dying.  I'm scared my kids might get shot at school like I worry that my wife get shot at a supermarket.  There are dangers all around us; from terrorists, non-terrorists, disease, famine, bad drivers, poor weather, snakes....

But jesus ####### christ, man.  Why live in fear like this?  Hell, go outside and play.  Seize the damn day.  I get it, you guys want to spend what's left of your time in fear.  Not me.  Learn to laugh, learn to enjoy what's left of your life.  You want to stress and spread fear about bad guys doing bad things, well...be my guest.  Keep starting fear based threads about what atrocities lie ahead of us.  If you want, you can open history books and read about all the atrocities that are behind us.  There were some really bad ones just like there will be some really bad ones ahead.

But me?  I'm going to take a page out of Van Hagar and remember that all that matters is right here, right now.  75 degrees outside, I'm going to go home early, put on some work clothes, crack open a cold one and spread some topsoil.  Then I'm going to play with my kids.  And then I'm going to eat dinner with my family.  With any luck, I'll watch a show on TV with my wife, maybe read a little before bed and hope the world is still spinning when I wake up.  What I won't do is spend another second worrying about how bad guys are going to do bad things and scare everybody around me.

Go have a gas at whatever you do.  Peace.

Dude, seriously, are you ok?  I'm starting to worry about you.  It's a ####### topic on a message board.  You know, something that might generate discussion and we all might be able to pool our resources and learn a little bit about the threat and possible mitigation strategies.  Chill out man.  Nobody is saying we are stifled by fear. Just something that probably deserves more discussion right now than what Donald Trump said yesterday that is giving you and McGarnicle nightmares.

One thing's for sure -- Trump is the only one who can save us.

It really depends on how much ISIS has contributed to the Clinton Foundation.  Shoot, with a large enough contribution Hillary will personally deliver nuclear weapons accompanied by George Clooney.

I get were you are going.  The number is 11, it is not a secret.  The secret is that not all who you may count as a person count under the formula for reaching the total.  Much like our Constitution had fractional representation of some persons or races for some purposes, so to does the secret formula for reaching the 11 needed here.

I understand the formula is as convoluted as the one the NFL uses for compensation for loss of restricted free agents.
KILLUMINATI UP IN THIS #####

Course I'm OK...I'm going outside to play with a cold beer while you hunt for better links proving that ISIS is going to sneak through Mexico with nukes and kill us all.

But, thanks to you, I'm going to stop by the nursery and buy a rosemary plant.

You called this an "existential threat". That means an actual threat to our actual existence. Now you're saying it is just something that "probably deserves more discussion".   Which is it?

Ha you're funny sometimes but you're far from ok. You need validation from this board like nobody's business.

He's getting better though.  At least this time we didn't get the thousand word diatribe about what a great person he is.

Cool.  I commend you for overcoming your limitations.
Limitations are the construct of feeble minds desperately attempting to define themselves is such a way as to relieve themselves of the burden of making the world a better place.

Don't forget - History of the 80's tonight on CNN.
Terrorists getting nukes is a serious issue. I don't think there is anything new in what you posted though. Ofcourse we need to be working to protect our borders. What that means exactly, people might differ on.

Right on cue Tim.  Was waiting for a dismissive comment from you as well.  Just waiting for sho nuff and we can close this out.  GB!
Nah, I'm just joking around. Seriously, I think the prospect of ISIS or terrorists in general getting nuclear weapons is scary. But I absolutely believe we fight that with information, which is why I've never been as gung ho on limiting the NSA as some people here. And we fight it by having friends in the Muslim world tell us what they know, which is why I believe Trump's comments and proposals about Islam have been so damaging. And finally I fail to see how a wall on our southern border, designed to slow down Latino illegal immigration, will make us any safer from terrorism of any kind.

Was looking forward to hearing about his soccer coaching strategies that have made him the #1 coach in the Pacific Northwest and the background story on the crazy kidnapping heard around the world.

Great point about the wall. Seriously, if a terrorist takes the time, effort and risk to smuggle a nuke to Mexico, I doubt he's going to go home when encountered with a trump wall.

so lets leave the borders wide open and make it as easy as possible

I was going to change the batteries on my smoke detectors, but then I thought, "what the hell."  Life's too short to worry about getting burned up in a fire...

Definitely the only other option.
Right, let's leave that Southern border wide open.  Disregard that intell suggesting that ISIS has designs on smuggling in nuclear material through Mexico and the Southern border.  Heck, maybe the terrorists will focus instead on smuggling nuclear material on airplanes, or at one of our ports where there are detectors.  Good thinking counsel.

Do you lock your doors at night?  You do realize that criminals can still get in if they really wanted to, right?

Has anyone actually advocated for leaving the border wide open?

Along with the tremendous trolling you all have done in here, is your only other tactic to argue against things nobody has actually argued for?
