Thoughts on Crayton????

August 29, 2007

Glenn might not be ready to go Saturday

The plan is for Terry Glenn to practice Saturday for the first time since having arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 1 and start the season opener against the Giants. But Glenn isn't sure he'll be ready to go full speed in a few days.

"We'll see," he said while walking to his car after the kickoff luncheon. "Can't say too much about that right now but we'll see."

Glenn said he wasn't certain that he'd be ready for the season opener, but "with the grace of God," he'll play against the Giants. He did not sound optimistic that he'd be 100 percent in less than two weeks.

"You've got to do training camp to get ready for a season. Unfortunately, I missed it," he said. "I've just got to get back and take everything slow and smooth. Hopefully, I can contribute and help our team win Sunday night."

How far up does Crayton move from sleeper to where you would rank him vs other lower tier steady guys like a Mason, Kennison, Horn etc now?

Crayton is still being wildly undervalued from most people. I got him for $1 in an auction 2 DAYS AGO full of guys from this site.

He runs good routes, is quick and agile. Playing opposite Owens and having Witten and the RB's in the mix will present Crayton with a lot of opportunities this year.

I would rank him in the same vicinity as Horn and Mason and above Kennison but with more upside than all of them

Are you saying Glenn won't be healthy this season or that Crayton will overtake him? If Glenn and Owens play, how many balls will there be for Crayton? I like him but if Glenn does come back healthy soon Crayton will basically be the 4th-5th option in the passing game, so I'm not sure how high a ceiling he has.

So what do you think this does to Crayton? To be honest I haven't seen a whole lot of him this year in preseason but his stats look only mweh.

Patrick Crayton:7th round draft pick from 2004Creer high of 516 yards over 3 years9 weeks last year with 2 or fewer fantasy pointsCurrently the #3 WR on his team (except for ONE WEEK, assuming Glenn even misses week 1)Yes, by all means draft him over Derick Mason, current starter, who had over 1000 yards for 5 straight years until his "bad" year last year when he put 200+ more yards than Crayton's career year. Or over Kennison, who has averaged over 1000 yards for the last 3 years and had more TDs in each of those last three years than Crayton has ever had.
