I'm not sure I'd do that. Holmes has a GREAT matchup this week against the Browns. However, Vinny possibly starting is definitely excellent news for Smith owners - especially in PPR leagues. Vinny should be able to get the ball to Smith 5-6 times at least which is something Carr is incapable of doing.Good news for Smith owners. I may have to bench S. Holmes with this news.
I can't speak for other Smith owners but for me it's not a case of being excited that Vinny is starting but rather a case of being excited that David Carr won't be starting.Ok, Ok, OK... What is this world coming to when people are this excited that VINNY TESTAVERDE is starting?!?!Let me check my calendar.... This IS 2007, right? Not 1996.
Do you know how many Vinny Targeted Smitty the one game he played(i thought it was alot)I can't speak for other Smith owners but for me it's not a case of being excited that Vinny is starting but rather a case of being excited that David Carr won't be starting.Ok, Ok, OK... He had 10 catches in that game... 12 targets.Do you know how many Vinny Targeted Smitty the one game he played(i thought it was alot)I can't speak for other Smith owners but for me it's not a case of being excited that Vinny is starting but rather a case of being excited that David Carr won't be starting.Ok, Ok, OK... Vinny got hurt in that game. Carr threw the majority of passes. Those two catches came on the first two drives with Vinny at QB. Another catch was erased by a penalty.10/136/1 in Week 6 with Vinny
2/18/0 in Week 8 with Vinny
So which Vinny are we going to see in Week 10? Week 6 or Week 8? Personally I'd bench him instead of taking the risk!
Well, I have to bench one of Smith, Holmes, Colston and TO. A good headache to have. Vinny knows he has to feed Smith the ball. If Vinny plays he'll throw a lot in Smith's direction. Hopefully Vinny can stay upright from here on out.I'm not sure I'd do that. Your alias makes me :Xwhoooo.
Awesome...SSmith week 10 projections: 23 receptions, 56 yards, 2 TDs (not bad for PPR league).
This is so sad. I mean.. I'm totally with you, but still really, really sad. My fantasy lifeline is tied to Vinny Testaverde? Really? Where's that "things I never thought I'd say" thread again?
good point. still, if VT gets the nod, im not rolling in WR studs that can take his spot (unless reggie brown and pat crayton qualify, but im quite sure they dont).though from your standpoint, i would consider hackett.I'm still not feeling too good about starting Smith this week even with VT in.
Remember last time CAR played ATL.....Smith caught one pass for 5 yards. DeAngelo Hall was glued to Smith's hip pocket the entire game exclusively. He made it his mission to shut Smith down and he did. In this game both Jake and Carr played (mostly Jake), so regardless of who is throwing to him this week it may be tough treading, but it is at home. Hall had Smith so rattled that game. Sure Hall got all the penalties that cost them, but he closed up shop on Steve.
I'm thinking of running Hackett or Roddy over him this week?

I'd rather see Moore than Carr. Not even close. I can't imagine there's any way Moore would hurt Smith's production more than Carr has.
