Tested Positive for Covid today. (1 Viewer)

#### dude, I’m sorry. Are you in pretty good health/shape?  Did you have any underlying medical conditions?  Each time I hear stories like this I feel very grateful about my experience.  Good luck man.  I hope you recover quick.
Pretty good shape.  Work 40 plus hours a week.  Never had any underlying conditions.  Never had a breathing treatment in my life.   Was able to get out of the house yesterday.  Although after a few hours (3) I was ready to get home and go to bed.  It felt like 11pm when it twas actually only 7pm.   Now my ribs hurt of course because of nonstop coughing for over two weeks.    Still have SOB with very little exertion.  No more brain fog at this time.  No more aches and pains (outside of my ribs), the leg cramps are gone.  Appetite is back.  I have regained sense of smell and taste.   Just take supplemental vitamins and two breathing treatments per day at this time.     I think it is going to take awhile to get my entire strength back.  Upside don't feel like I am dying.        Downside was I read that I am really only immune for 90 days?  WTF!?  I dunno what I was thinking but I was hoping for immunity but nope.    Slow and steady.

Welcome back, gb. Keep fighting strong

I don't think there's enough data for doctors to be sure exactly what resistance you do get.  I'm just glad you are getting better.

Yep.  No idea how much or for how long the natural antibodies are protective at this point.  That 3 month window seems to be just a not-so-educated guess based upon other viruses.

One of my practice partners was admitted to the ICU yesterday with COVID and a secondary pulmonary embolism.  😞

I know about a dozen people who have had this. All have had either VERY mild or mild symptoms. Three of those people had high risks including my wife (high blood pressure), my FIL (heart surgery), and my brother (Type I diabetes). They all barely had symptoms. My wife didnt even isolate in our home when she had it (she was positive for 5 days before we got test results and I was also a close contact to the person) and I tested negative. Slept in the same bed as her, she cooked dinner, etc. Never developed a single symptom.

Its just crazy how random this disease is.

My wife had her first Covid shot and tested positive a few days later.  She never had severe symptoms just achy and tired.  Yesterday she got her second shot and today feels like she has been ran over by a train.   Very weak.  Very sore all over.  Cold / Hot.  Unable to get comfortable.   No SOB.  I instructed her that cleaning the house and doing more baking would keep her muscles loosened up and occupy her time so she wouldn't be able to just dwell on the pain.    Just so ####### random.

A few weeks ago on CNN, a gal said the second shot really wiped her out for a day

In the last month, I know about 30 people that have gotten it.  Three had very severe cases.  One friend had a SO pass away.

Went back to work today.  It was really tough to get through the entire day.  At around noon I was done.  I was able to push through but man I am so freaking tired atm.   It is only 530pm and it feels like 11pm to me atm.

Don’t forget to rest up too Shiz.  Be well soon.

Got my 2nd vaccine dose two days ago. It kicked my ###.  Diffuse body aches, fatigue, maybe a low grade fever.

The worst of it was over after 24 hours but I’m still pretty tired today.

Well worth it to me though to know I had a strong immune response and thus probably have pretty decent immunity.

Excellent.  We are looking forward to getting our shots, too.

So my wife got her first Covid vaccine and after a few days tested positive for Covid.  It was around my day 4 or so that I was in the middle of my Covid crap.  She did not have near the symptoms that I had and was able to be back on her feet in a few days.   Following up with her Doctor they both decided to go ahead with her second Covid vaccine dose.    The second dose was this past Tuesday 12th.  She felt a little achy and tired.  Wednesday 13th she was unable to get out of bed.  Very sore muscles.  Hot, cold, restless.  In and out of the bathtub several times.  Took some pretty strong medication for pain and it didn't even touch it.   Thursday 14th today she is perfect.  She told me that the 2nd shot symptoms were 1000 times stronger than her regular Covid symptoms.   She did Moderna for what it is worth.  Maybe the 2nd shot just really kicker her butt due to having actual Covid?   I think everyone will react differently.   I still haven't received even my first dose of Covid vaccine.  I will speak with my doctor and try to make the best decision.       GL everyone.   take care

Sounds like your wife had a similar reaction to mine. Pretty common after the 2nd dose of this vaccine. Glad she is back to normal today.

Probably not.  And it's good that she got her shots because they are more likely to give her better immunity.

Hope everyone infected recovers soon and everyone else who reads this stays safe and can get vaccinated soon. Wife and I had our first Pfizer shots on Tuesday and both only had a bit of a sore arm for a day or so. Second is scheduled for February 4th. Hoping for minimal side effects but even if it knocks you down for a day or so it will be worth it. If I remember correctly I think that about three weeks after the second shot that full protection kicks in? Hoping our 16 year old can get as soon as available for that age group. I wonder how long until we will be able to vaccinate our 11 year old.

We both went for tests on Wednesday, knowing we had it. Probably should have waited a little longer but both tests were still positive. Not sure if we should test again hoping to be negative before a flight on the 25th.

Hope you guys are feeling better.

Aren't you required to test again prior to flying?

And if not required, shouldn't you anyways?

You're only required to test if you want to shorten the 14 day quarantine.  The CDC no longer says you need to test again after 10 days from first symptoms and that you can go back to normal activities if there are no more symptoms.

That said, we scheduled another test for Wednesday anyway.

Wife tested positive after waking up puking/diarrhea. I tried to stay away from her as much as possible, slept in separate areas of the house, etc.  I didn't/haven't had any symptoms but a week after her positive test I took a rapid test and it came back negative.  Thankfully after the first night of being sick the only issue she had was fatigue,  She slept 10-12 hours a day and was still tired.  Fingers crossed I stay symptom free

Another weird symptom I had was having restless leg syndrome, or something like it, in my right leg for 2 nights. Made it tough to sleep. Never had it before and haven't since.

You can get the jimmy legs from COVID? No bueno.

I know Covid can cause blood clotting which is no bueno. Would that cause something like that?

Covid has been known to cause neurological issues in something like 1 out of every 7-10 people it gets.  Some people complain of fogginess, some people complain about twitches and such.    Its a weird virus in that it hits different people in so many different ways.   One of my clients is an ER nurse and works the covid unit daily in Southern Cali. She's been working ER for close to 10 years. Two weeks ago she told me that 2-3 of the covid patients she was treating had literally the worst diarrhea  and stomach related stuff that she'd seen in several years.   That surprised me a I never really associated Covid with the digestive tract or being a stomach ailment.

Not so much numbness or tingling but actual twitching of my leg like a shock, right one only. It was hard to relax enough to prevent it. It was worse on the first night and only lasted a second night.

My boss's kids' babysitter just tested positive. He and the kids are getting tested tonight, so we'll see hpefylly by tomorrow what's what. I'm sitting at home now, still wearing a ####### mask inside just in case..

I have been back to work for 1 week today.  I am ####### exhausted everyday at 5pm.  I come home change into t-shirt and shorts eat and go to bed.  Can't sleep more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.  I am just looking forward to the weekend at this point.  I got the leg cramping as well and the doctor said some people had success with seltzer water?  Dunno how it works.  I couldn't drink it because it tastes like #### and would rather just have the cramps.  Tried putting the seltzer water in other things like gatorade but at the time my stomach was upset and didn't want to chance vomiting.

No fever, no issues other than I just want to sleep 20 hours a day.  I will get short of breath quickly with exertion.

White Claw baby!

Guy at my work had a bad case like you and he said the same thing. Took him 2 weeks to start feeling better, another 2 weeks before he could make it through the day without a nap, and another 2 weeks before he could make it to 8pm before going to bed. He's finally sleeping more normal now, but still complains of lack of stamina and shortness of breath. Best wishes to you.

Man sounds like I've had covid the last 3 years

Ruh roh.

How do you feel?
I've had congestion for a few weeks, which I just chalked up to seasonal stuff until my wife and daughter both tested positive. I had two negative tests (1 normal and 1 rapid) in the meantime, so that kinda validated that thought for me. That has maybe gotten a little worse the last couple of days, but that's about it so far.

Hope your feel better. I thought you were saying you tested positive.

Hope everyone is well or doing better. Im scared as hell of this thing.

Over a year in and we simply cant make the kids stay at home 24/hours. They see their friends. The wife and I still dont see anyone except for my parents once a month or so.

Picked up a cough recently. I didn't notice until my youngest (14 going on insane) daughter asked.... "whats up with your cough, are you dying?" Shes so sweet.

They all tested negative. So I can stop wearing a mask at home

Remember reading on here how nobody knew anyone that has it?  These are all within the last month.

Brother in law got it.  60 and in amazing shape, never stopped working out his entire life.  It brought him to his knees, 3 days in particular were really bad.  Lost a lot of weight, looks gaunt weeks later and also like he's aged 10 years.  Getting around slowly, like an old man.  Really took a toll on him.

My allergist got it.  Young Asian guy, late 30s.  Fit.  His office said it was bad.  He's smaller and thin.  Lost 10+ pounds.

My mechanic got it.  Pretty big Mexican dude, mid 40s.  Thinks his daughter brought it home and gave it to he and his wife.  Said his temp was 104+ but that he couldn't get into a hospital so he tried to gut it out.  He said the chills were the worst and that they turned into violent shaking and he thought he was a goner.  He's religious and was saying his goodbyes.  But made it.

PP just cancelled my appt.  I called the office and asked why but they were trying to avoid the topic which makes me sure he's got it too.  He is in his mid 40's and in very good shape and was super OCD about washing, masking, cleaning and distancing this entire year and I've seen him a lot.

We know a family of 10 that gathered recently.  Every last one of them ended up with it.  The 70-something parents ended up okay but the 40 year white woman is in ICU on a respirator.

I mention ethnicities because of stats that show higher instances for some is all.  Anyway, the really bad cases were middle-aged and in shape.  It's so random.

Guess I wasn't as careful as i thought...Tuesday night started a slight cough and headache.  Wednesday I was down for the count, chills and body aches and head ache.  Had mild fever at 101.  Today better, temp down to 100.  Will probably get another test to see if covid or just a cold.  This was almost exactly 2 weeks after my wife's symptoms.

Tested positive today. At my age I shouldn’t be worried but am a little.
Been a week since I tested positive. Symptoms stayed mild. Fever that peaked at 100.5, cough, body aches, loss of taste and smell.  Most are gone and feel like I’m well on my way to recovery. I am tired but that could be because I work a lot.

Picked it up after my son spent 3 days with his grandparents and then came to my house. They both tested positive after he left. Him and I both started feeling sick and both tested positive a couple days later.  Not sure where the grandparents picked it up.
