Anyone else really liking this matchup? Start as many Texans as you can? Schaub looks like a great play and I think that offense can put up 30+ on the Lions.Thoughts?
Yes its a much better offense. One thing the texans can do is move the ball up and down the field via the run and the pass. Arent too many teams stopping them at all, aside from the 1st game against the Steelers. Texans however seems to make alot of turnovers....mainly interceptions. I expect this game to be a rout. But i will say this, whoever the lions qb be, if he can get the ball out to roy/calvin, they can have great days as well, Our secondary isnt good at all, and those are 2 very talented wr's. Could be a shootout. One thing texans got going for them is MARIO WILLIAMS, i think he crushed every qb he has played thus far this year....may not always show it in the box score but they guy is punishing qb's.Vikings put up 12 points against the Lions at home. The Texans offense is that much better than the Vikings?![]()
Is this sarcasm?Uh, yeah. They're way, way, waaaaay better than the Vikings offense.Vikings put up 12 points against the Lions at home. The Texans offense is that much better than the Vikings?![]()
Everyone's offense is better than the Vikings. Where have you been?Vikings put up 12 points against the Lions at home. The Texans offense is that much better than the Vikings?![]()

starting all 3 as well = was nervous about too heavy on Hou last week so benched Schaub for Campbell - cost me a game.I'm going to be starting Schaub, Johnson and Daniels. I never thought I'd see the day where I start 3 Texans players, and feel good about it.
it looks like one of those matchups that's too good to be true. the Texans should put up 35+ points, but for some unknown the-NFL-is-a freakin-mystery reasons, they won't
Maybe, but unless you're benching a solid WR2 for Kevin Walter or Andre Davis, starting your Texans is the correct call here.I still feel that this has trap game written all over.....every fantasy player I know is licking their chops over this match up.
it's like doubling down on 10 when the dealer is showing a 6. no-brainer until he turns over the 5.it looks like one of those matchups that's too good to be true. the Texans should put up 35+ points, but for some unknown the-NFL-is-a freakin-mystery reasons, they won'tWhenever these GREAT matchups come along, seems like half the time the final score is 16-10 for no apparent reason. If you got Shaub, AJ and Slaton you gotta roll with em, though.
I'm in a survivor pool, trying to avoid the upset. Is the Lions Def really that bad (stayed in the game w/ MIN)? Any chance they could force some pick-6's on Schaub to keep the offense in the game? Bottom line Lions Fan - do you give the Lions much of a shot of beating HOU away given their dissarray esp. after the Williams trade (and I heard Megatron may have a concussion??!! removed from practice Wed).I'm starting Schaub, A.J., Slaton, and Daniels in one league and Schaub and Slaton in another. I fully expect the Houston offense to put up 4+ TD's in this game, and I'm a Lions fan![]()
I would start all Texans on offense and I think they will win. Houston is a good offensive team. Detroit is not close to the Steelers and Titans on D and those were the games so far that Houston's offense looked bad. They put up 27-29 points on Indy, Jax and Miami, all of whom have better D's than Detroit.I think too much was put on Minny's 12-10 win to make it seem like Detroit held them. Frerotte had 296 yards passing, but close to a 50% completion rate and Peterson and Taylor had 132 yards on the ground, but 2 fumbles. The Lions had 5 sacks and forced 3 turnovers, so I think those drive killing problems that Minny had are the reason why the Lions looked like they stopped them. The Lions only had 250 yards of offense, yet they almost won the game because they had only 1 turnover.Let's put it this way, Cleveland only had 14 more passing yards and 9 more yards rushing agains the Giants, but they put up 35 because they had no turnovers and no sacks allowed. Minny gained a ton of yardage, they just tossed away a lot of opportunities.I'm in a survivor pool, trying to avoid the upset. Is the Lions Def really that bad (stayed in the game w/ MIN)? We also get Dunta Robinson back this week. But whether that will be an improvement will have to wait to be seen. No saying if he's going to play like his old self or not.To change subjects, whats the view on the Texans Def this week? Can they actually hold a team to under 27pts? They are on the waiver of course, and I have Patriots against Den as my only other option, so I was actually thinking of picking up the Texans.. With Williams gone and Cal Johnson hurt, this might be the best matchup of the year for the Texans.... I just don't know if that means they are a good play though!
Umm, No they are not. And for everyone excited about Slaton, the Lions hald AD to 110 and Slaton is NO AD.Is this sarcasm?Uh, yeah. They're way, way, waaaaay better than the Vikings offense.Vikings put up 12 points against the Lions at home. The Texans offense is that much better than the Vikings?![]()
I'm benching the Packers D for Houston this weekend (league scoring predicated GREATLY toward returns for TD)To change subjects, whats the view on the Texans Def this week? When did giving up 110 rushing yards to a RB become "holding" a RB to 110 yards?Billy Ball Thorton said:Umm, No they are not. that's a good point. Minnesota didn't have much trouble moving the ball.Ozymandias said:Of course, as the saying goes: On any given week...But the Vikings did much better against the Lions than the score looked. Almost 400 yards offense, but 4 fumbles lost (including one by AP near the goal line) negated much of that. The Lions are unlikely to repeat that performance.I think Houston rocks this week.
Unfortunately my 5 is Aaron Rogers. It's a good problem to have I guess, as long as I can accept the fact that whichever one I sit is going to have the better game.it's like doubling down on 10 when the dealer is showing a 6. no-brainer until he turns over the 5.it looks like one of those matchups that's too good to be true. the Texans should put up 35+ points, but for some unknown the-NFL-is-a freakin-mystery reasons, they won'tWhenever these GREAT matchups come along, seems like half the time the final score is 16-10 for no apparent reason. Umm yeah they are. And the freakin Saints held Peterson to ~35 yards, so 110 is pretty good when you play for the Vikings.Billy Ball Thorton said:Umm, No they are not. I have:Schaub + Slaton in one leagueSchaub + AJ in anotherBut it looked like the Lions finally made some defensive adjustments tailored to the talent of their team.(e.g. the corners specifically Leigh Bodden were playing man coverage, there was more blitzing. . . )I'm afraid that although the Lions are awful and will still lose the game, they may surprise some with their new found defense.Anyone else really liking this matchup? Start as many Texans as you can? Schaub looks like a great play and I think that offense can put up 30+ on the Lions.Thoughts?
Nah I got 5 points from them against the Lions. They are not that good.Another favorable matchup against the Bengals. Who's going all in?
