Thanks Gronkowski you moron (1 Viewer)

Did he die?
if his neck had been broken.

Criminally negligent manslaughter[edit]

It occurs where death results from serious negligence, or, in some jurisdictions, serious recklessness. A high degree of negligence is required to warrant criminal liability.[13] A related concept is that of willful blindness, which is where a defendant intentionally puts himself or herself in a position where the defendant will be unaware of facts which would render him or her liable.

Gronk's move was completely inexcusable.  I really think it deserved a 2 game minimum.  I think 4 games would have been fully justifiable.

I'm actually fairly sympathetic with some of the defenders who get nailed for hits on legitimate tackles - things can be so bang-bang in football, and you can end up concussing a guy when you really were aiming for his chest but the player's head moved into the path of your shoulder.

But this was completely after the play was over.  White was out of bounds (and not just by a little bit).  Another player ran over and touched him down any way, which was right in front of Gronk, which he could plainly see.  White as down on the ground and completely defenseless.  Gronk was at a full stop and launched himself into White's head.

I can't recall every dirty hit over the years, but this one really sticks out in my mind as one of the worst ever.
I'll always think about to the time Martin body slammed McMahon and essentially ended any chance the Bears had at repeating as Champs. Little did I know that that play sent the pitiful franchise slowly into a tailspin they would never come out of.

I hate most of the NFL rules now that limit contact. It's really watered it down and made the game less fun. But this was bull####. If it wasn't Gronk, it would be for more than one game, but that's the treatment you get as a star.

If youve seen Jimmy Mac lately, its really hard to pine for more heads smacking against things.

I feel like whats being lost sight of isnt just White missing some time, but in 20 years maybe he cant remember where he lives, and that hit didnt cause it per se, but certainly contributed.

Not that he cares but Gronk pissing off a lot of fantasy owners.  Has there ever been a bigger suspension for the 1st round of the playoffs than this?
Not first round, but I won a championship round game when my opponent had Odell Beckham get suspended.  I was starting Eli so any Eli-to-Beckham TD's would have been a wash anyway, but it still helped.

"Gronkowski, you moron!" sounds like the kind of catch phrase that would be barked out by a grizzled sergeant on a 1980s cop show.

I'm thinking one of those war movies like Full Metal Jacket.

One of these days a player will just accept the suspension and not try the appeal route.  That would be the classy way to go and possibly even legitimize an apology.

Some day...
I asked in another thread, does anybody know if the NFLPA automatically files every appeal on behalf of the players, of does a player have to initiate their own appeal?

I agree, it makes an apology look shallow.  But, maybe it's out of the player's hands sometimes?

Why? Iloka’s suspension just got dropped. Why would they ever not appeal to a process that is magic?

i think the players association tells everyone to appeal
Which is hilarious, since, in theory, the players association represents the players taking the cheap shots also. If the players association actually tried to police their own members, rather than always sticking up for the rulebreakers, they would get a lot more support from the general public when they get in labor disputes with the owners.
