Woodson is playing at an unbelievably high level this season

My logic had nothing to do with the Lions. It had to do with a team down 20 points halfway into the 4th quarter of a football game. The most important factor in that scenario is quick points. Detroit had a chance to score 9 points in a short period of time. They could have had 7 points in an instant, but then would have had to kick off and face the prospect of 4-5 minutes coming off the clock before an opportunity to score more.Nonetheless it's all moot now.The hole in your logic is the offense can't score.2 more points plus less time off the clock as opposed to 7 and the amount of time it would take to get the ball back from GB.Do the 9 points make much more difference than the 7 in this case?In essence via the safety Detroit can score 9 points with 1-2 minutes coming the clock as opposed to 7 points and Green Bay burning 3-4 minutes off the clock.Whether they execute or not is up to them.
In the safety scenario they would have have toscore a TDstop GBscore a TD + 2 pt. conversionStop GBkick a FGwin in OTIn a TD scenariostop GBscore TDstop GBscore TD for the winYes, but with the safety you get the ball back immediately in advantageous scoring position. For Detroit to come ahead on that exchange, they needed to punch it into the endzone quickly. They almost did. And that scenario (safety followed by quick TD) was really their only chance. The TD made it a 2 score game. The safety kept a 3 score game.Usually but when down 20 and the clock becoming an issue, you have to hope for best case scenario. And for Detroit it was the 2 points, the ball, and a quick score.I understand what you are trying to say but teams would always rather have the 7 instead of the 2 and a chance for 9.In essence via the safety Detroit can score 9 points with 1-2 minutes coming the clock as opposed to 7 points and Green Bay burning 3-4 minutes off the clock.Whether they execute or not is up to them.
With most teams it would help but this is the Lions. I wonder if they'd let you decline the touchdown and take the safety. My logic had nothing to do with the Lions. You say they need quick points then you say they could have 7 in an instant but would choose to have 2 and a chance for more. Isn't that a little contradictory? They would opt for the TD and hope GB runs grant three straight times into the line to try to run out the clock. My logic had nothing to do with the Lions. He's been so bad on challenges this year, I think he's desperately trying to improve his win percentage on them.McCarthy must have Woodson on his fantasy team. He challenges.
Are you living in an alternate dimension where the Lions offense is capable of scoring? What is the score of the game you are watching? Does Matt Stafford have a goatee that makes him look vaguely menacing? They get the 2 points and the ball in great field position. The get a TD on this drive and they come out ahead on this exchange. Most importantly Green Bay can't burn time off the clock.Wouldn't a safety be better for Detroit anyway?![]()

I think he has photos or video of Ted Thompson in compromising situations. Only way he is still on the team.Have you cut him yet? If not, why not?EdwardCat said:Jennings also cannot get open. The guy is a bust and nothing more. He is not even worthy as a wr3. Having one decent game every five games makes him a wr4.Desert_Power said:Jennings is constantly lined up to the weak side of the formation, Rodgers doesn't look to that side of the field.NatronIsMean said:Greg Jennings definitely did something personal to Rodgers. Because he gives Jennings NOTHING.

he did make a nice play jumping a pass to Fitzsimmons yesterday ... but somehow he found a way to screw up a sure thing INTbasher said:Anyone else cringe whenever they see Jarrett Bush on the field? score a TD
stop GB
score a TD + 2 pt. conversion
Stop GB
kick a FG
win in OT
In a TD scenario
stop GB
score TD
stop GB
score TD for the win
Yeah...he seems a split second slow in his decision making.Gave up the one big play where he was just late getting his hands up. Had another where he undercut the route but the guy was wide open behind him and he missed (thankfully I believe the pass was incomplete). But yeah...Id rather start seeing what Underwood can do at times.he did make a nice play jumping a pass to Fitzsimmons yesterday ... but somehow he found a way to screw up a sure thing INTbasher said:Anyone else cringe whenever they see Jarrett Bush on the field?
