Thats two in a row (1 Viewer)

How does Jared Allen go two weeks in a row with just 1 tackle in each game?

Watching him play he pushes hard straight up field on most plays while the runner goes right by him. At what point during the game does this guy say, hey maybe I need to spin toward the ball carrier once in a while? If hes such a beast how can he go an entire game with just 1 tackle? I could get 1-2 tackles a game just by being in the path of thr runner...

Anybody know if he is hurt? Otherwise its almost time to bench him -

In this defensive scheme, Allen is tasked with playing the run on the way to the quarterback. His tackle numbers slipped some last season as a result from his huge solo seasons in Kansas City, but he remains a 45 solo/year player. The Vikings haven't seen many rush attempts over the past two weeks, which has limited Allen's opportunities, but his tackle numbers are more likely just the usual ebb and flow of a defensive end.

Allen had eight games with two or fewer solos last season. He now has five this season. It's also worth noting that Allen has been credited with five quarterback hits over the past two games and a pass defensed. He's still collapsing the pocket and playing well.

Seeing rush opportunities in our high performance format is not a good thing.

Sacks are huge and the fact that he has seen mostly passing opportunities makes his numbers of late even harder to swallow.

He may be resting since he knows the Vikes will win anyway - I'm going with Dockett this week because Young is prone to make bad decisions and Dockett has showed up in the box scores the last few weeks.

Allen Dominated whoever lined up infront of him against seattle and was a split second off from multiple sacks. he pressured and knocked Hass down several times. like Jene said he hasn't faced many rushing attempts the last few weeks. i think seattle had 10 or fewer rushing attempts

I take it back - lol And i did start him after all - his huge game allowed me to pull out a win even though both of my Qb's were OUT. (Warner & Ryan)....

Thanks for the sanity check.....

Another goose egg for Jared Allen last night, so now only 2 good games of the past 6. I didn't catch the game last night but I'm worried.

Anyone want to comment if you saw the game?

Double teamed with the te and a back all game long. Whole defense did not fair well.

Double teams, combined with very quick release from Warner meant nothing in the statbook. Allen hit Warner a couple of times, but was just a fraction of a second late each time.It might be tough in Cincy this week, though Palmer does hold the ball a little longer. But Cincy does not utilize the TE much in the offense - expect them to be held in to block on a regular basis.I think in most leagues you play Allen if you have him. Best chance on your roster for a multiple sack game.
