I am trying figure what happened with Tim as his last posts give no indication that he posted anything untoward (although those may have been deleted by the mods).

It's not uncommon for the post(s) that trigger a banning to be deleted by the mods.

Like Tim, I am a part of that "ilk" (should I put that on my resume?) and seems like I got a target on my back with that crowd.

I do recall he was getting into it with jon_mx who (and this is just my perception) likes to push the buttons of people here on the left. Now coincidentally (or not) jon also seems to be MIA and has been conspicuously absent from the Kyle Rittenhouse Thread since the trial started. Perhaps they had a back and forth that got out of hand and both were put in the forums' jailhouse. 

To be fair, though, Tim, even though I do not often agree with him, posts in good faith and is more than willing to engage in discussions where he takes the opinions of others into account and will even sometimes change his mind.  And he will admit when he is wrong.  None of the same can be said about you.

In the meantime I must address your mis-characterization of me.

Obviously you don't read my posts or have some preconceived notion of them, as I generally respect the opinions of others when they are not insulting my point-of-view or using laughing emojis. There are several people (like the guy who has the nickname for always being wrong or the "college professor") who regularly call me names and then ask for a serious discussion (but it doesn't work that way). 

And over the years, I have admitted that I have been wrong probably over a dozen times in the PSF or in here.

It’s pretty clear there is a sub section of posters whose only aim is to get Tim and his ilk banned forever so they have a far right utopia sub forum. They hammer the report button when Tim and others fall into the trap. It used to be an anti president forum,Has been since GWB. Honest discussion is hard to come by there these days, but at least Tim was trying. Tough when those who oppose his viewpoints choose to bait him into posting something stupid, which he is very capable of, instead of discussing issues.

On the one hand we get the left leaning posters reporting people for not following “rules” that are more an attempt to guide people and get people to be their best, rather than be strictly observed and enforced.

On the other we get a small group of ultra right wingers who must talk offline, that have a list of targeted individuals. If they find a suitable post, they agree to hammer the report button.

Both are a drain on moderators. I know which is the more successful strategy....

Either way Timmy did as Timmy does and got whacked. Only question is how long.

I think its harsh to blame it on Joe and the moderators. BassnBrew probably summed it up best. Sometimes Tim and others post what is in their head and dont think before posting. I think its pretty clear what you can and cant do. When Tim exited the political forum, no bans I think? 

Repeated infractions matter. I think its reasonably clear that right leaning posters get the benefit of the doubt for board balance,  but they would probably disagree. 

As to those who just want to get people banned, how the heck do you police that?

You’re right. I barely ever visit the forum and never post so I have no “side”, it was just an observation that’s maybe just recent or maybe my observations were wrong. Either way I probably shouldn’t have said it.

Anne appeared at my small college in the late 70s.  I was the student chair of the Concerts Committee, so I was able to spend time with her.  Classy lady and quite the professional.  Before the show she casually asked about who a big conference competitor was and what the local river through town was called.  During the concert, then, she worked both of those facts into her on-stage banter.  I was able to bring a couple folks backstage to meet her - a super fan and some high schooler from her area back in Canada doing an article on her.  She was gracious with her time for both of them.

The best version, and I don't know which album it's on (Nine Tonight, maybe?) is the live one where he kicks it off with "It's good to be back in Boston!" The tempo is sped up just a hair and it rocks big time.

Many critics regard this as Springsteen’s best ever song; as will be seen, I don’t even regard it as the best song on the album! 
But that being said it’s quite good. The melody, beginning with the piano opening, is a classic. 

Curious to know if longtime Springsteen fans around here share in the critical adoration of this tune?
