The 2013 K Thread (2 Viewers)

Rotoworld:

Bills signed K Dan Carpenter.
Carpenter was scheduled to work out for the Browns after the Bills. The 27-year-old has spent time with the Dolphins, Jets, and Cardinals over the past three weeks. Bills rookie kicker Dustin Hopkins injured his groin in Monday's practice, which explains Buffalo's sudden need. The Bills could end up placing Hopkins on injured reserve, or Carpenter will fill in until Hopkins is ready.

Free agent K Billy Cundiff will work out for the Browns on Tuesday.
Cleveland had also planned to host Dan Carpenter, but Carpenter signed with the Bills on Monday night. The Browns don't have a kicker on the roster. Cundiff went 3-of-3 on field goals this preseason with the Jets.

So is this a place to really discuss and keep updated projections, predictions, injuries, and competitions?

Guys in new upgraded offenses such as in CHI, KC, PHI, and StL should be getting more of a bump than they are getting in the rankings.

Personally I think Gould especially is going to do better this year.

FBGs were really high on Randy Bullock, particularly Herman. So much so that I bought in, and now have Bullock in 3 money leagues. Anyone else similarly wind up with Bullock in multiple leagues?

i got bullock in two money leagues and i feel comfortable enough to play him every week. im not a big kicker guy and usually stream the position but the Texans kicked the thirst most field goal attempts last year. Bullock was good enough for the Texans to keep him a full year and seem to have a lot of confidence in him. I'm also a Legatron fan just because Fisher doesn't mind relying on kickers and looking at the pre season he deff trusted legatron to kick from 50+.

I have him in couple of leagues, primarily because I wait the maximum on the position and his FBG projections were quite out of tune with other sites.

This is what has me either concerned or excited. FBGs is the only site with Bullock rated in the top 5 that I saw. I like my kickers cheap and trust Mike Herman when it comes to Ks. Anyone else on the Bullock train?

I have been scooping up Zuerlein (sp?) everywhere in all my leagues, love his Yahoo ranking in the thousands. Dome kicker with a freak leg on a balanced offense that might have trouble in the redzone? Sign me up.

Fisher's day with Bironas were very productive.

Struggling between Bullock and Z'lein. Zeuerlein definitely had his dips last year and either the Rams offense will take off or it won't, the key to getting a top-3 kicker is early in the year and usually there is someone you did not see there the year before.

Basically if someone has a good week two weeks in a row in the first two weeks of the season seriously consider getting them. Of course waiting to see who that might be, it's another option.

FFToday has him ranked #3

I have him on 5 of 6 teams. A lot of people missed the boat on this guy.

I also have Bullock.
He hooked that 51-yarder but Kubiak had confidence to send him out there for the attempt. It also looked like, if the Andre Johnson catch wasn't overturned, Bullock would have been given a chance at a 58 yarder. Gotta love kickers that are given chances to nail 50+ yarders.

Henery is a FA in one of my leagues. Will he be getting too many PAT attempts and not FG attempts to consider him over Seabass?

Anyone abandoning ship on Bullock? He's 1/5 on FGA's which is unacceptable but he's still 3rd in FG attempts, which is just where Graham was last year for HOU.

If so for whom?

Thoughts on Novack? That Charger dinkdunk offense might generate a few FGs.

Lol I never understood the hype for bullock when people like Caleb Sturgis and Greg Zuerlien are available...

Washington will likely wait until Friday to let Kai Forbath try kicking http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/715/redskins-injury-report

Updated: Kubiak comments further on Monday... Randy Bullock Has a Rough Go http://kickology.blogspot.com/2013/09/nfl-week-two-randy-bullock-has-rough-go.html

Doug Marrone not yet ready to say Bills have a kicking competition http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/09/doug-marrone-not-yet-ready-to-say-bills-have-a-kicking-competition.html …

Novak's my target in the one league in which I own Bullock.

Is Tucker okay?

Somebody dropped Heushka (seattle kicker), so thinking I might switch.
LINK:

“The fact of the matter is that I missed two, and I missed two in a row, and that’s uncharacteristic,” Tucker said. “But if you play long enough you’re going to experience ups like we experienced last season, and you’re going to experience downs as well. At the end of the day you have to have an on-to-the-next-one’ attitude to survive in this league.” Tucker said that he missed the two field goals for different reasons. He hit the first kick poorly, and the second had the aiming point wrong to account for the wind. “The first ball, I mis-hit,” Tucker said. “Then the second one I actually felt like I hit pretty well. Really all I needed to do was play the breeze a little bit better and have a little bit better plan. When I hit the ball it stuck to its initial line. I really don’t feel like I mis-hit that ball at all. It just kind of sailed right on me a little bit.” Head Coach John Harbaugh said that Tucker “overthought it a little bit” on the second attempt, and that he accounted for the wind a little too much. “I think he was trying to guide it through the wind rather than knocking it through the wind,” Harbaugh said. “He didn’t follow through with his usual assuredness there.”

Dumped him for Hauschka in 3 leagues. 1/5. #### you Bullock, and #### me for trusting a kid with zero game experience. Never kicked in a real game and I'm starting him Week 1 in 3 money leagues. I should have my head examined.
