The Aerial Assault in Cleveland ! (1 Viewer)

With the porous Cleveland pass defense, I'm thinking Schaub/AJ could roll the Browns in their house.

Any Browns homers out there to convince me otherwise ??

Thanks Ckev

Not a Cleveland homer but I am putting Kitna on the bench in anticipation of Schaub getting some huge numbers.

Will the weather play a factor this weekend? The two places I looked at had precip chance at 10% and 20%.

I'm seriously considering benching Palmer for Schaub - the only thing holding me back is that my opponent has AJ, and the rest of his team has better matchups this week. I also may be starting Daniels over Cooley.

I think Schaub has a chance to do some great things this week

I'm starting Schaub (over Garcia) in one league and DA (over VY @ CIN) in another ... I think this game will be of the 30-27 scoring type with plenty to go around to everybody.

I'm expecting 275/2/1 for each QB with minimal downside and a shot at both exceeding 300yds.

I'm on the fence with benching P Manning for Schaub.

I'm playing Schaub over Peyton without even a shed of worry..I'm in a must win to get in position and Peyton has absolutely no upside this week IMO....Huge Addai game written all over it,where CLE games have potential shootout written all over them, hence the easy decison to put Schaub in there this week.......AJ coming back strong only reinforces my decision...

Good Luck all this week and happy T-Day...........

In my big-money league, I'm starting Schaub over Brady this week. Brady is due to get hurt.

I did the same thing this week in two different leagues. I am also more concerned about the weather than just about anything else, to be honest. And from what you guys say here it does not sound like that should be too bad. We will see though. After the first half of the Lions game it is looking like a solid play so far regardless.

I am going to benefit, because i am going to the game and it should be a high scoring shootout

the browns will be successful in passing on Houston

houston will be succeessful in passing on the browns

should be a fun game

I don't believe this statement...I really don't.That's some good ole' schtick.

Texans WR Andre Johnson vs. Browns CB Leigh Bodden, FS Brodney Pool

A surprise victory over the resurgent Saints directly coincided with the return of Johnson to the lineup following a seven-game absence with a sprained knee. Johnson’s deep-play ability was a welcome sight for an injury-plagued and skill-position-starved offense that had managed to keep its head above water with the likes of André Davis and David Anderson at wide receiver. Likewise, QB Matt Schaub’s job became instantly easier as did RB Ron Dayne’s, whose 89-yard effort last week was undoubtedly aided by the extra attention paid to the passing game. Having flown under the radar for an abysmal Houston franchise, Johnson’s talents rank with the league’s elite. At 6-3, 220 pounds, he is strong enough to consistently fend off the press at the line of scrimmage, has the size to post up defenders underneath and as illustrated on TD receptions of 77 and 73 yards this season, has the speed to threaten downfield. But concerns coming out of college regarding his inconsistent hands have yet to be fully resolved. Bodden and Pool have been tremendous disappointments this season, anchoring a secondary that ranks 31st in passing yards allowed per game. A product of one of the league’s worst pass rushes, Bodden is usually alone on an island, and after making significant strides as a former undrafted free agent, has really taken a step back this season. At times, he has played worse than rookie CB Eric Wright. Pool returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown last week off a deflection, but does not excel in any particular area, and could be prone to the Texans' increasingly effective play-action fake.

Advantage: Johnson

I sure hope the Cleveland/Houston game is a shootout. My opponent this week has Jennings & Peyton going today and I will be starting Schaub & AJ.

I am going to need a lot of points to keep up

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Texans WR Andre Johnson vs. Browns secondary — Johnson didn't seem to have any rust last week after missing seven starts with his knee injury. Johnson has had more time to work on his timing with QB Matt Schaub, and his confidence is getting high. Johnson has had 100-plus receiving yards in all three of his starts. If the Texans can get their run game going, there should be just as many opportunities for Johnson this week.

Browns TE Kellen Winslow vs. Texans secondary — Winslow has watched the game film of the Texans vs. the Chargers. The Texans' secondary has been revamped, but the play hasn't dropped off tremendously. The new group hasn't met a player of Winslow's stature though. It won't be easy for them. When the Texans played Antonio Gates, they gave up big plays. He had three catches for 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Winslow hopes to do something similar.

WR Andre Johnson is getting closer to 100 percent. The Texans wanted him to take part in only about 35 plays last week. He's not expected to be as limited this week.

RB Ron Dayne is expecting to get the bulk of carries against this week. He has had outstanding back-to-back outings, and Ahman Green is still not healthy enough to carry the ball very much.

GAME PLAN: After two weeks of being challenged by two of the best defenses in the NFL, Derek Anderson on Sunday will face a Houston team decimated by injuries, particularly in the secondary. Fourteen Texans are on injured reserve, and six of them are defensive backs.

The Texans are not a blitzing team, which isn't necessarily good for the Browns because Anderson has proven he can beat the blitz. Anderson could have more success trying to beat the Texans with long passes rather than beating them near the goal line. Houston is allowing 23.6 points a game, ranking the Texans 25th in the league, but they are third in red-zone defense.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Browns LT Joe Thomas vs. Texans LDE Mario Williams. Thomas could have his hands full trying to keep Williams out of Anderson's face. Williams has five sacks, which is already a half sack better than he had as a rookie in 2006. Pass protection has been a strength for the Browns and Thomas has been a big part of it. He has to be careful not to flinch. Last week he was called for a false start on back-to-back plays trying to get the jump on Haloti Ngata.

Browns LB Kamerion Wimbley vs. Texans QB Matt Schaub. Although he has only four sacks this season, Wimbley is the Browns' best pass rusher. Schaub has been sacked 13 times in 10 games. He is far sturdier and gets rid of the ball far more quickly than David Carr, his predecessor in Houston. With the injury problems the Browns are dealing with in the secondary, it is essential they get some pressure on Sch

:goodposting:

Looking forward to this one :goodposting: :banned: , looks like it will be on TV in Detroit. Between my 2 money teams I have:

Schaub

Anderson

AJ

Daniels

Winslow

Dayne

Playing both QB's :coffee: , AJ, and Winslow for sure and will sort out the rest during the next 2 days. Daniels is due to score, worried if I sit him this week he get a TD and go off.

Benched Kitna in favor or Schaub.

Doesn't look like that was a bad move after today's lousy game for Kitna.

Won't be drafting him again next year...

This has shootout written all over it. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into the Browns/Bengals game of week 2. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but we have two great passing offenses against two awful secondaries, something has to give. I think Winslow is line for a monster game.

Neither team has killer D against the run, so I would nexpect both teams to feature their running games and try to control the clock. The team that wins the possession battle and keeps their defense the freshest will win. I don't expect any passing fireworks until the 4th quarter.

just my analysis.

For me, it`s Schaub/Browns or Big Ben/Dolphins on Mon nite
I'm in the same boat and I'm thinking Schaub will get the nod. Ben will be missing holmes, and Pitt may rely more on the run. Meanwhile Hou only has the aerial attack and should put up some monster numbers against Cleveland's secondary. I'm a Cleveland homer, but man this game has me nervous. It defintely has the makings of a shoot-out.

Start every player you have from both teams. This could be a 44-30 game (Browns Win) before it's all said and done.

The Browns just hung 33, 28 and 33 on 3 top 10 Defenses. How much can they score on the Texans?

I agree with this post. I am starting Schaub and J. Lewis in one league and J. Lewis, Edwards and A. Johnson in another. May backfire but I'm willing to take my chances as I am about at the "must win out" stage of the season. Fingers crossed for a shootout.......

Regarding your title, what makes you think one of those two combos won't do well? Two players are going to roll the Browns? OK. Not sure what you're asking there or commenting on.I see your bright orange undershirt....start Anderson over Schaub.

Cleveland CB Eric Wright is more than likely not going to play due to suffering a sprained knee last week where he was carted off the field. Lee Bodden has been struggling but the Browns pass rush has taken down QBs ten times over the last two weeks. Also SS Sean Jones is back from a slump to being one of the top SS' in the leauge. Additionally FS Brodney Pool just set a club record with a 100 yard INT return last week and is much improved over the first month of this year. I think at least FIVE Texan DBs were on the injury report so they are really banged up in the secondary. Look for Browns QB Derek Anderson to have a big game. The Browns are 4-0 the last four games in CBS (Cleveland Browns Stadium). They don't stop anyone defensively, the wins are primarily from QB Derek Anderson playing better at home in the last four games, QB passer rating of 109 VS only a QB passer rating of 77 on the last three road games. Look for a high scoring game. Schaub should have a big game, Andre Johnson should have a big game. Probably even Rod Dayne as well. Look for a shootout and a great fantasy play for skill positions. Definitely start em if you got em. Braylon/KWII/Derek Anderson/Schaub/Andre Johnson/Andre Davis. Oh yeah, DEFINITELY start Andre Davis since he used to play for the Browns and Phil Savage let him walk. He prolly wants to prove himself.

This is comforting since i am starting Schaub over Hasselbeck this week. I am getting slightly worried, and still have time to change my mind.. but my gut instinct tells me that Schaub will play big. Really the only worry i hav is about him getting banged up and Rosenfels coming in. This game is big for both teams that are down and fighting tooth and nail for playoff contention. Thats why I see it as a bigger game for both QB's than any other in the league. They have to come out strong because this loss can end their playoff hopes. Everyone was anticipating cinci and ariz as a shootout last week. But in this game I don't even see the ball being out of the air that much.

Me, too!!! I just like the matchup too, too much to pass over Schaub. Got to win this week. Take the upside, leave the cannoli.

Now, if I could only summon up the nuts to play Kolby Smith over Clinton Portis... but I've used them up on Schaub over Hass.

I did this too. Not such a good move right now. Starting Edwards, Winslow and Jamal seems to have made up for it, but benching Manning was not a good idea....At least so far....

75 yards and a TD on that drive alone. This makes the decision not look so bad. Let's just hope the Texans can get another possession.
