That's the main reason I thought they should have passed on Newton. Von Miller, Dareus or Green would all have been better picks to add to Luck. Better in all likelihood than what they can get for Newton if they're picking #1

Bear this in mind. Sam Bradford was expected to be the #1 overall pick in 2009, but chose to stay in school (probably to escape being picked by the Lions).

He, in turn, gets injured TWICE during his final college season and after the bowls he had lost some luster. Teams were afraid of the injury and many

questioned why he stayed in college. The closer we get to the 2010 draft, the injury concerns start to lessen and he eventually gets drafted first anyway.

Luck is easily the #1 pick unless there is a catastrophic injury. If a team with a decent or better QB ends up #1 they will likely get a king's ransom for

the #1 pick by a team that desperately needs a QB next year.
