YES!I was going to jailbreak my phone yesterday, but apparently Apple isn't signing any iOS before 4.0.2 so the hackers are just working on a 4.1 update.

I tried to go to the multi task bar and close everything out. I have done nothing today except check email and surf FBGsTook the phone off charge at 7. It is now 1:14 and I am at 53%. Is this what everyone else gets. I am concerned since everyone was raving about the battery life

Down to 40% with 3G off

You take take it into an Apple store and they can test the battery life. It might be a dud and they will replace it.

Do a hard reboot on your phone. Charge to 100% and go on your life as normal tomorrow. If this happens again you probably have a problem.

Easy way and the only way for 4.0 or above. Also the easiest way for anything under 4.0 as well, but there are other options.

If you still have iOS 4.0.1 then jailbreak.com will work, but if you have 4.0.2 (like me - just got my iphone 1 week ago) then you're SOL b/c Apple is not signing off on any iOS before 4.0.2. Haven't charged since Monday AM and am at 46% now. Half your battery in 6hrs isn't right.

Depends on what you're using it for.Me? I listen to my iPod all day, and I surf FBGs on it when I'm at work.I'll run down to just about 10-15% by the time 5 o'clock rolls around unless I have my charger with me.On the weekends I usually don't even need to charge it.

Might want to check the screen brightness. If you turn the brightness down, the battery will last longer.

TuneIn Radio absolutely rocks for streaming radio. It basically makes using XM or Sirius obsolete.

I'm not authorized to do anything at all with the account, so I'd rather shell out the $200 than go through the company and risk them taking it back.

reason i'm asking is that I'll be in China and was planning on doing Facetime with my daughter using WiFi but then it occured to me that I may be paying some outrageous phone-bill because of it.

You won't get data plan dinged on wi-fi, but I think a facetime call = 1 minute of airtime regardless of how long the call is.

Wifi only so you won't be using the 3G and it's mobile to mobile/ att to att so you won't be using any of the minutes.Just my guess, not sure if being in China would change anything

I was afraid that it would be calling minutes the entire time which at a few dollars per minute could really add up

Yah, I reformatted and jailbroke with Greenp0ison right after it came out. I didn't need to read the issue or experience much difficulty with Limera1n, but I'd trust the work that a dev team spent over weeks vs the work of one 1 guy over a day.I was wondering if we should start another thread for Jailbroken iDevices since it's legal and all now. To further discuss what we have going on. I'm still a n00b at jailbreaking so getting input from FBGs vs. the jailbreak community is an easier/safer way to proceed, IMO. It sucks that a lot of themes/customizations on Cydia for Winterboard aren't working on 4.1.However, I'm loving the jailbreak just for the added functionality it brings.

I have switched over from an old theme to a new one due to the OS, but overall most are upgraded in time. I am soooo glad I use Aptbackup before and after jailbreak. It retrieves all apps and themes as well as sets them all up. I cannot say enough good things about this app.

I got to Korea a few days ago and it seemed to be working but I turned Facetime off-and then back on in the settings menu and it isn't able to log back on again

Thanks for your help. Just wanted to come back and let everyone know that this worked out fine, in case anyone else is in the same boat as me. Just backed up my old one, then loaded that backup onto my new one.

Just wanted to let anyone with an older slingbox know that despite the warnings, the sling mobile for the iphone works great.

No idea why I didnt get this app right away but I am blown away by the wifi picture. I have not tried 3G yet but my life just got a lot more convenient.

iPhone 4 that when downloading apps for the last two weeks, it will show the icon and "loading" underneath but never fully installs on it's own. I have to shut down the phone and when I turn it back on the apps are loaded and working.

Anybody else have this issue and any ideas what's wrong/fix?

This is no help at all, but you can lock the view type for certain apps. It's possible/probable you did that somewhere, but I looked around and couldn't figure it out.
