Not really.

nope
Darn. They're just trying to get rid of jailbreakers, aren't they?
Upgrading an OS is necessary sometimes. Problem is, OS upgrades aren't "sexy" and you really don't "see" the benefits. It's sorta like the framing work or electrical work in a housing remodel. You don't "see" that money in the product. I'd say a good part of it is patching holes and trying to prevent jailbreakers. That's about as productive as the war on drugs and I really don't understand why Apple wastes it's money on trying to keep the environment as closed as possible.
Yeah. Just heard that 6 was pretty glitchy. Don't want to take a step down.

awesome..... that backup I did to the iCloud #### right before doing all this? You know... so I wouldn't lose all my apps and whatnot? Um... yeah... apparently I've "never backed up to the iCloud" ####### hell...

Pretty shocked I got it to work. It's interesting, the new multi-tasking feature is pretty cool with the swipe to close. Everything is bright.

WHelp... failed again. Back to 6.1.4
I feel your pain and frustration. Updates and restoring have never seemed to work right for me the first time (and rarely the second) the whole time I've had my 4. And that's with waiting for official releases and following the book with the recommended procedures.

Good luck.

:wall:

Cross, have you noticed that the threads don't open to the newest post anymore? noticed a few quirky thing, which is expected.

finally got it. phew
:hifive: Any idea what was causing the holdup?
THIS. I had the same issue (not registered as part of developer program) over and over. Grrr... Screw it.
Read One's post. The problem was I followed the directions and held shift. You need to hold option on a Mac. Seems like kind of a CRITICAL PIECE OF INFORMATION TO LEAVE OUT!!!!!!1!
I used Option (shift does nothing on Mac). Didn't help. Shift is the PC instructions... Option on Mac. I was able to select the ispw file and everything. It's just not letting me bypass the requirement for UDID being registered.

So far I like the new features, specifically the multi task function an browser tab function. I find the UI to be pretty juvenile however.

I found a switch that says "invert color" that I thought would make it better, but it might as well be called "Halloween Theme."

Try the option/restore again. It should point you to the ISPW file. When it does, cancel. Then try option/check for updates. Select the ISPW and you should be good.

Can I install iOS 7 on my 3GS?
Don't think so.
Well, that sucks. I guess it's time for me to finally upgrade. How long until the iPhone 6 is out? Also, will iOS7 come on that iPhone 6 when it launches? Would you guys recommend waiting for the 6 at this point?
The 6, or 5s, will be out in the fall along with ios7. If you want the iphone 5 for cheap then go for it, if you don't mind spending the extra $100 wait til fall.

Safari does not take you to the first unread post, rather the top of the page that contains it. This could be problematic for gekko or squishy heavy threads.

:goodposting: LJ. I'm surprised it's working as well as it is.

ITunes radio isn't on the beta version yet.

Little trouble deleting voicemails last night, kept freezing here and there. But for an early beta, it's pretty good.

Radio is in the music app.

"It just works"

This isn't really supposed to be working. They are hacking essentially. I'm sure for approved beta testers it installed and worked much better.
Go search....more and more "features" are being found in the validated versions. I know what betas are.

Ill preface to say I'm not complaining, just pointing out some observations using the beta version, I'm sure it will be cleaned up...

It is a battery hog. I noticed location services were constantly running even without the app wanting to use it being open. Had to turn it off completely. Still sucking my battery dry.

Some apps will not work, they crash immediately on opening.

Websites will not advance to the newest post, on multiple message boards not just this one.

Having issues with the phone and voicemail. Cannot delete multiple VMs, deletes one then freezes, have to close and reopen.

Probably reverting back to 6 tonight. Not that great that I need to keep it with the minor bugs happening.

What part of "beta" do people not understand? It has lots and lots and lots of bugs. The idea is to get it to developers who can spot more bugs and also begin working on compliant apps so that when it is ready to roll the apps are ready too. Not hacking on you specifically but there were more than a few articles in the last couple days imploring non developers to stay away from the beta because they would no doubt have the same crummy experience you did.

I've had very few issues. Yeah, an app crashes from time to time and a button here and there doesn't work exactly like it should. But on my iPhone 5 it seeme to be very stable for an early beta.

Outside of the battery issue, the bugs haven't been enough to make me revert. I haven't used too many apps so far, so will keep an eye out for the crashes.

I've been up for about an hour, and I've lost 18% of my battery power. I may need to revert for my next business trip.

I'm hoping they get the battery drain squared away... I run a battery case on my 5 as it is and generally burn through the case and most of the phone's battery in a typical day.

Outside of minor bugs, only main issues I've had with the beta are:

1. Voice Mail crashes

2. Neon green
